Exactly, Black Orchid!

I am also sure that cholesterol level is hereditary but my current GP doesn't believe me. Nor he should, I suppose.

Normally, I am about 6.1. Have been forever, regardless. I will NOT take medication for this. So ... to reduce it, this time, I have given up dairy, completely, to try and prove a point. Last time I gave up red meat for 6 months my cholesterol went down to 5.5, I did not change anything else. The GP said that cutting out red meat could NOT have made a difference, but it did. Obviously.

This time I am going a bit further with "my experiment". It could make my level sky-rocket, who knows. I will see the GP tomorrow to get a referral to have blood taken. Could be a week or so before I know the results.

Could be interesting.

Who cares anyhow? I am not overweight. I don't smoke, drink or eat rubbish food.

I will live as long as I live, regardless of cholesterol.

ZOMG!!111!!! Animals bleed when they die??

Too many people are too used to thinking their steak and chops come from a magical beast that shits foam packaging and cling wrap.

When animals are killed, they struggle, they bleed and they twitch as they have done for eons before they get to our plates
Suck it up, moralising princesses or don't eat it?

If you are truly offended, take your dreadlocks, mungbeans and tofu and fuck off to Pakistan and protest there where this will continue even if you send our farmers broke.

Seriously, this govt is destroying Australias relationship with Asia simply because mungbean retards are so easily offended about anything that goes on outside their little world and policy is being decided on twelve year old twitter twats tweeting

It has been an experiment. If it hasn't worked I will go back to what I did previously. ;)

You are neither vegetarian nor vegan, so how about you stop with the pretence.

Neither vegetarians, nor vegans eat chicken or fish (they are both animals, FYI). All vegans are vegetarians, with the additional qualification that they don't even use animal products (such as milk and honey).

So IQS were the farmers etc, financially compensated for the rejection and loss of animals?
Considering the animals were cleared of disease and the claims of the Pakistanis, what should the outcome have been and how would you ensure it in future?

I mean they are the issues, outside the obvious issue of should we or do we need this type of trade in the first place.

nef, if you want to lower your cholesterol quickly take the available supplements... Blackmores have some, they work good.

The farmers are paid well before their animals get on a boat. It's the export company that owns them by that time.

No need to get all hell bent about me saying a v-word. Did you actually notice what I said .... now in RED? OK OK I upset you Greenies. So what?

I like meat and I know how they kill animals to make the butchers rich and the meat eaters fat. I don't consider killing animals for food is cruel at all. As a child of 10, I saw my Uncle butcher a lamb ... the smell will never leave me but I will still eat lamb ... and did so later that school hols, as that lamb became a roast and chops. :thumb

Farmers would definitely have a claim against the export authorities, which should be no issue. Insurance etal should handle that side of things.

I would gather that the farmers are a consortium who outsource the handling, shipping and export. It's that outsourced company that hold the liability, mainly because it is highly likely that they have arranged credit/delivery terms to the Pakis...who you can guarantee they have reneged on.

It is quite possible that another supplier from another country has already come in and done a deal after seeing how the Gillard govt reacted to Indonesia.

Paid off someone in the paki govt to declare diseased shipment, 'dispose' of the shipment graphically, release some film to a sympathetic Aussie animal rights org and bingo - Aussie industry closed, multi million dollar contract sewn up to a competitor, Gillard govt silenced from making too much noise.

Pakis get a good deal on meat, don't have to conform to those 'rules' those annoying fucking bleeding heart Aussies insist on and they can't afford to train nor do they care.

Lose-lose for Aussie farmers and livestock.
Animals will still be slaughtered and now with no oversight.
Win-win for pakis.
Aided and abetted by the ALP and bleeding heart fuckwits without a clue

I did say etc... but I am not sure of the financial arrangements.

That's a bit conspiratorial IQS... if you know of any source that covers the issues or find one could you please post it.
Also there were no answers in your post.
I think there needs to be a body that overseas the trade with agreement of both sides of the deal to have access and be the "referee" whose decision is final. So ignorant people cannot make outlandish claims and the animals welfare is looked after,
