Gets pretty gritty with no punches pulled. The woman having her 25th kid and midvife amazed she had no stretch marks. Hadn’t had a period in 25years either—pregnant before she could have it. (Anglican) Nun talking about it would be nice to have a potion to prevent conception so the woman could have a break. The new midwives arriving at the centre amazed and discomfited at the _glass_ enema funnels.
The midwives cycle to their patients—no such luxuries as cars!

I saw it here in the UK.
Very interesting.
Most midwifes are amazing people. Poorly paid, huge hours and there is great stress on them here in the UK.
My biggest concern and from personal experience 5 years ago was the push for natural birthing. The NHS wants natural birthing because it is cheaper. Did you know that being pregnant is not considered a medical considtion here and therefore is not covered under any private health insurance. To go private you have to pay big time.

I am not in favor of home birthing. A first born baby born in breech position needs more than some bloody midwife in a less than hygienic bedroom!
