I quite like the above portrait, even if the artist was being overly generous, physique wise.
Charles has never had broad shoulders, has always been a puney type.
But the fly thing works.

I actually see Prince Harry more than Charles in the above portrait.
I like it none the less.

Well it does, and he looks a tad 'woke' in a flamboyant kind of way too.

David Sharp, Paris, France
Red , the colour of art?
Not necessarily, art is all colours, multidimensional, infinite.
What is the origin of the expression 'to paint the town red'?
Hint: Has nothing to do with art Jasin.
According to Oscar Wilde, it's Dante, The Inferno: "we are they who painted the world scarlet with sins."
Garrick Alder, London
The four dictionaries I have looked at agree that this originates from US slang. The earliest recorded use is 1884, and the OED quotes the Chicago Advance (1897): `The boys painted the town [New York City] red with firecrackers [on Independence Day].'
BC Rowe, London NW1

The expression is American slang meaning to go on a reckless debauch, to be wildly extravagant. Originally, the metaphor applied to bonfires painting the sky or scenery red. An old Irish ballad contains the lines: The beacon hills were painted red/ With many a fire that night. The immediate source of the phrase may be traced to the times when a Mississippi steamboat captain would want to defeat his rival. `Paint her, boys!' he would command his men as they heaped fuel upon the fires at night, casting a red glare upon the surrounding scenery. The phrase was helped into popularity by the fact that `to paint' (ie to paint the nose red) was an old slang term for drinking. [Source: Handybook of Literary Curiosities, by William S Walsh (Lippincott 1892).]
Peter Whitehead, Shaw Heath
The origin of "painting the town red" comes from the drunken activities of huntmens in Melton Mowbray. If my memory serves me right after the traditional Belvoir fox hunt the drinking and celebrations ended with a few of the huntmens taking red paint to the houses surrounding the town square. I believe that all the buildings were completeley covered in red paint before anyone stepped in to stop them. As to what happened to the men, or indeed the exact date, I'm not sure. However, a quick visit to the website of Melton Mowbrays other great export; www.porkpie.com, might reveal more...
Mark, Melton Mowbray UK
It's NOT from Marquis of Waterford, in Melton Mowbray. The phrase was never used to describe the Mad Marquis until 50 years after his death, of which the term "Painting the Town Red" had been used numerous times elsewhere. It's just something Melton Mowbray Tourist Board like to push on unsuspecting idiots.
Drew, Macclesfield England
And from an artistic perspective...

Re: Portrait of Charles looks like hell.
I think Charles portrait conveys a warning, danger, difficult times for the monarchy and world ahead.
Anger perhaps?
I see nothing in this portrait that's indicitive of Charles painting the town red, but I feel that it's conveying a message of impending doom.
Does anyone know who painted this portrait?
Could we be living in the final century of our world no longer having kings or queens?
Could humanity be entering a new era wherby the notion of royal titles, lineage and " entitlement " is no longer relevant?
Remember what it says in the bible re- our God being a jealous God, not wanting his children to worship false idols.
The royal family as false idols, living lavishly off the public purse while Great Britain's tax paying citizens die waiting for housing and healthcare treatment in their public hospitals.
Recently, an undergraduate student of journalism was instructed to wait in her car for 17 hours to see an emergency department doctor, sadly she died of a heart attack aged just 20.
I think we are entering a new era of truth and revelation. AI only serves to accelerate this process.
In an era whereby citizens are demanding equality, inclusion and making this happen.... where does this leave a royal family demanding a luxurious and privileged lifestyle and salary, based purely on their having been born into the right family?
Prince Andrew the pedos silenced victim commit suicide in Australia recently, WA, and I doubt she was his only victim.
She was paid-off and silenced and sent to a foreign country on the other side of the world.
The royals paid her to disappear, and without a support system here in Australia, she deteriorated then took her own life.
Sounds familiar doesn't it. I wonder how many other abused victims were sent to Australia as convicts also?
All those child convicts...... being bailed by powerful men, used as servants, is this kinda like trafficking?
The woman were auctioned like cattle to the settler's, many purchased by key authoritative figures.
AI is bleeding the truth, and the royal family have historically been involved with the trafficking of human flesh.
Andrew wasn't the exception, he was merely the one that got caught.
Human flesh as a trade commodity, and it's sill happening, we are still exploiting 3rd world nations for cheap ( slave) Labor, in exchange for citizenship and the basic necessities of life.
