Looks satanic and ugly, regardless of how you look at it.
I'm sure it's bursting with symbolism and will be the subject of much discussion long after his death.
Perhaps this was his objective?
Perhaps this portrait is his way of conveying an important message?

No, it's his own portrait- self expression, or future fate of UK, or west? I think he's trying to convey a message, he's always been a Lefty, and artsy, so perhaps it's a political statement?
A reflection of the times in which he's king?
Hellish times.

Re: Portrait of Charles looks like hell.
Perhaps we should have asked him while he was here in Australia, but would we have received an authentic answer, or one curated by his PR team?
I mean, he's gone to the trouble of having his portrait painted which no doubt will leave people questioning it..... perhaps this was his intention, to leave this world and a little something of himself behind that couldn't be answered, not unless he has himself provided the answer to someone close to him, because let's face it, every moment of his life was intruded upon, answered for, spoken for explained by his PR team, and this in itself might be his way of saying, "Well you lot, you're not going to know everything about me, let's see you make sense of this confronting and hellish portrait of mine, long after I'm dead, you'll still be left wondering what this means."
All that's missing from the portrait is nazi symbols lol... perhaps we could solve this puzzle yet.
Did he actually give an official interview and or rationale for why he had his own portrait painted in the midst of a royal family battle with serious illness and the recent deaths of his parents?
The royals have had a devastating last 5 years to say the least, then there's the estranged son and so forth.
It's enough to make anyone sick.
He's king, but as far as we know, he's still human and with everything he's been dealing with over the last few years especially, lest we forget his accused pedo brother and the scandal his son created when he decided to "come out" Netflix & Opera " style.... it's amazing he's still alive.
So when you think about it, "Hell" may indeed have been exactly what he had in mind when he had his portrait painted.
Perhaps he was trying to tell us in his own stoic way that he's been living in what feels like a proverbial hell for the last few years.
Unsure, but I am going to delve into it, I would like to know who the artist was.
He's king, yet he's still so miserable and always has been.

Royalty is a prison of sorts. Those of them who try to rebel inevitably fail dismally like a curse. Everything is controlled and duty is expected. Everything is pressure to perform. I would hate to be a royal. Especially under such Media scrutiny every day, every word, every action.
It would be hell indeed being a royal, especially British more than most.
