Re: Mellie's Ozpol past life
And excuse my rampant typo's peeps, I'm still deciding on what new laptop I want. Macbook vrs Dell/ Microsoft.
Will go looking when school returns, when I have time to make a considered purchase. Currently typing everything from my phone, which doesn't even spell check and overlooks or rearranges correctly spelt words .
So I've given up trying and will wait for my laptop.

Don't buy what's best.
Buy what suits your needs

Trouble is they will all likely meet my needs, just so much choice!
Was at the Good Guys before Christmas, got my daughter a macbook and iPhone. Excellent deal!
So thinking I might buy my first ever apple device, despite previous prejudices I held for them in years gone by.
I'm studying and plan to write over the next few years, so need something with ample storage and security.
I have been told apples the gold standard for security.
My computer geek son is anti- apple so he's biased, can't rely on his recommendations.

Unfortunately, I don't have any siblings just a tech head son who hates Apple.
Lucky duck you Jasin, I guess siblings come in handy sometimes?

Re: Mellie's Ozpol past life
My son is a..... unique employee himself, cyber security specialist, though he's in Sydney, and even so, I don't think I'd like him to snoop at everything I write, letters to friends etc.
It's personal.
Last time I asked him to help me recover an assignment for uni, I thought I'd lost it, he took complete control of my computer remotely and found my file, which was good, though proceeded to prank and annoy me for a week afterwards. Lol
That was my old laptop. It lasted only a few semesters.
Hence the need for a decent one this time. At the time, it was within the price range I could afford and did the job.
