Merry Christmas Mellie and everyone.
Merry Christmas Jasin to you and yours. We just got back. We stayed back for some fellowship, and we will hopefully be there Christmas morning, depending on what time Santa finishes wrapping presents on Christmas eveπŸ˜‰..... Still more things to sneak into the house. 😊

I was invited to Carols via music band on church grounds. But I knew it would rain and I have Christian phobia. Lol

:gup I come in peace, and will never bible bash you or try to convert anyone :bgrin . Our church is very laid back, some of our regulars swear worse than patrons from a local Irish pub ( I can't recall the name, I haven't been there) .... this church became our family away from home when we found ourselves living in Ballarat 8 years ago. You'd probably laugh if I told you how we come to be there, I actually thought it was just a Kindergarten, wasn't even aware it had a church attached to it. I was raised a Christian though, but we only went to church for Christmas, Easter, weddings, christenings and funerals. I was raised with Christian values Anyway long story short....We went along to this church expecting the traditional fuddy-duddy church from my childhood and was very surprised that it had it's own groovy Cafe, huge indoor kids playground and rock band. What wasn't to love when I couldn't recall the last time I had actually been among adults and could have a coffee and a chat without having to run after a child at the same time. I was hooked. πŸ˜†

I have deeper and more profound respect for all faiths these days, but especially love my faith, Christianity, and my children are Christians too. But we are normal people. A few months ago my child was horrified when she heard me say shit ( or even swear) for the first time in her life. We had a plumbing nightmare, think chocolate fountain in the shower recess when plumbers used the electric eal, of course I swore, there was f*ing shit dripping from my ceiling......like a scene from a horror film, so just because we are Christians, don't think I'm Mother Teresa, I'm far from it.
And I can take a joke, even a Christian joke at Christmas.

Lol πŸ˜„

A spot for links :

I don't want to mess up the boards so will pop them here so everyone can find them easily.

Bobby's recommendations:

https://www.chessgames.com/

https://www.nytimes.com/games/wordle/index.html

https://www.thewordfinder.com/5-letter-wordle/

These are great, but I'm still only learning my way around the chess board. The place is much bigger and more involved than I expected.
Multiple games and forums etc.
No idea where to start, so I joined and introduced myself "Animel" on there, and am awaiting feedback from one of it's inhabitants to advise me where to start. I don't want to crash into any existing games with chess masters, heaven's, I haven't played for over a decade. For 2 sad reasons. 1 the person who taught me how to play passed away, and the other is for personal reasons since.
So basically I am starting over, I know the basic rules though have forgotten many of the specialist moves and openings my dear old friend and chess teacher taught me in my youth.

So it's basically starting over, back to the drawing board even. 😌

Hi Mellie,
no need to join up -
just look at it every day and see if you can solve the chess puzzle.
It changes every day.
Monday is normally the easiest but it's not today.

Do you have a direct link to this problem I can attempt, so I don't have to fumble through pages upon pages of assorted chess puzzle games. There's honestly heaps.

Thnx

Hey Jasin,

And a very merry Christmas and new years to you and yours too. πŸ™‚
I'm not convinced FDs moved to the 'centre ' yet, will have to see, because I don't want to crap my 'centrist politics on his ozpolitic board if he'd prefer a more left leaning atmosphere this is why I couldn't stay before. I would discuss non-political stuff , but think if those who know me see me posting, even in general discussions, they may cheese off, so will remain here ( and continue elsewhere) for now. It would cause a poo fight because obviously the hard left would want me gone, and to keep a majority happy, I would end up having to leave or they would sook and stop posting. They would constantly complain to FD and he'd plonk me back here just to shut them up and get peace. πŸ˜„

Also....

A little birdie mentioned some rather infantile behaviour earlier re- doxxing and stalking people off-line, like calling up their works employers about posting online views and so forth, so rather than walk right into the lions den, I will sit back and quietly observe Ozpols dynamics for now. I'm reading through it though. I have a fair bit to catch up on, new posters etc.
Some very amusing content, some of it made me laugh, it would be good if IQS and Deep Thought were still posting some of their comedy, wit, but unfortunately like everywhere else ( bar a few mature nooks) the vast majority of ozpolitics content is very droll and woke. People are too afraid of being caught by the Ministry of Thought to post what they really think or want these days, hoping this will change a bit due to the looming geopolitical landscape shift.

I think politicians themselves benefited from uncensored and unrestrained "honest " polical views to assist with policy development and understanding what the public really want.

Now, what they're posting is what they think they have to post, which really isn't helpful to anyone, it's just false propaganda being posted for personal accolades, " oh well said, I totally agree"
...content without any real heart or substance. I often wonder if anyone's caught onto themselves having been muted, in fear of judgement, consequences like ending up on some list for not thinking in accordance with the party line or simply blacklisted on any given platform?
It's the same on many SM platforms, particularly Facebook and X where it could mean the difference between being employed or not employed in some cases.

The censorship isn't only arbitrary, it's psychologically manipulative, coercive, abusive, and it needs to stop.
If an individual feels the character of their neighbourhood has changed for the worse since Albo immigrated 2 million citizens during a global pandemic then they should feel safe expressing their POV. But is this the case?
The left themselves must feel intrinsically eroded, undervalued, betrayed themselves....because they see what's happening, even if they don't feel they can say it.
Teachers know that Aboriginal students along with certain minority groups have an unfair advantage when it comes to disciplinary action and consequences in publiic schools, compared to the "alleged" white privileged class.
Did you know that the department considers that a misbehaving and disruptive Aboriginal student remaining in class, despite them stopping other students from learning is official department protocol? It's about keeping Indigenous students at school for as long as possible, time spent in class, regardless of how their behaviour impacts on others. If they fail to comply, they lose their 80k funding for their Indigenous student. Even students with a tier 3 disability don't get this.
Autism L1 10k - 15k
Autism L2 15k to 24k
Autism L3 + 24k to 50k however the school principal may utilise this funding on misbehaving Indigenous students or non indigenous students, leaving the student it was granted for left out in the cold, particularly when they're not a minority student, rather are a Non- Entitled regular white student.

Indigenous funding goes towards making provisions for their cultural learning in a public school.
Know of any other cultures that get 80k each year so they may learn their own ancestorally appropriate culture?

It's ridiculous, and it's blatant discrimination when schools can't even afford the basics like toilet paper, sunscreen, technology, all resources or to employ classroom teachers, yet can spend 80k a year on culturally appropriate activities for each Individual Indigenous student. Like paying an indigenous elder to enter the school to yarn with a cohort of Aboriginal kids for an hour a fortnight- who don't even look Aboriginal themselves, are only a 24th, or 68th Aboriginal or less.
There's genuinely Indigenous kids on missions in remote regional areas going without clean drinking water because of this stupidity.

It's this and so much more blatant hypocrisy and reverse racism & discrimination our current government doesn't want discussed on social media, especially public forums where moderation is determined by someone they haven't vetted themselves.

If Australuan public discussion boards were a living thing, they would be on the government's EPBC Act List of Threatened Fauna.

Our very Australian culture is at threat, but are we truly aware of how much we stand to lose, and the consequences there of?

Well, the education department are realising this now, with the stat's confirming that our kids are less educated and capable of the very basics literacy + maths than they were even 60 years ago.

Ask any grade 5/6 child what Australian history is.

They're being drip-fed a woke rendition of what they are only permitted to know about. Invasion Day studys....no cultural or historical pride/ truth ..... much less the positive attributes we have developed since we "Invaded".
Never mind a flushing toilet or clothesline that spins or power drill ...in fact, never mind anything good white man gave to this country at all.

https://www.australiangeographic.com.au ... the-world/

Australia, the only nation in the world where you can buy a home on a block of land that's never truly yours ...or hold a passport to a country whereby you're not considered a true citizen, unless you're indigenous, regardless of having been born in Australia, along with 16 generations of your family.

We are merely invaders!

As for citizenship, what does this even mean anymore?

Anything?
Unless you're an immigrant.

I suppose according to the left we are just guests in this country and should act as such?

Guys, reserve censorship for the REAL online criminals, like terrorist cells trying to recruit kids for evil, not for law abiding tax paying Joe Blogs who simply wants to have a ballanced discussion about Australian politics.

A fair go should mean a fair go for all, not some who pander to any given political party's whim or those who claim Indigenous status.

I consider myself to be a white Indigenous Australian, why is this so wrong?

Civil rights and freedom's are our only defence when it comes to keeping our Australian culture relevant.

You know, perhaps there's a valid reason for the conspiracy theorists claiming Australia doesn't exist.

If we don't make our views heard soon, pretty soon Australia won't exist, well not as we know it to be today, anyway.
