Re: My Word.........le
Bunko?
As in to swindle someoone into "taking or buying" property?
I'm too scared to complete it Bobby, because I'm uncertain if I do, that it will be my last turn to complete the puzzle and then that will be it.
I'm going to say the answer is Bunko .
I'll wait for you to respond with a possible hint before I attempt to complete it with my final word answer. ( BUNKO)
Because once it's completed, then I think it's over, I lose. Lol
You started this Bobby, it's only fair you supply me with a letter if you've already cracked it.
I'll give you until 5pm to solve it, or offer me a letter, then I'm going to enter "BUNKO" and see if it's right.
It's likely incorrect, but you never know.
Dammit, I couldn't wait. I was incorrect, it's not BUNKO . I won't spoil it for you Bobby. How did you go?

Re: My Word.........le
And I got Lingles word correct, 4/5 do you need a letter? Was my first crack at this puzzle. These aren't bad, but I still prefer cryptics. I enjoyed how the setters would interact with eachother on cracker and would often set their grids in accordance with what was happening within politics and take swipes at politicians, celebrities, nations etc. Whatever was happening in the moment. Not every clue, but I found these little digs and in-jokes both insightful and amusing. Like when Noel Jessop would take a jab at the stickler , DA or DH. I miss the old cracker days. I have a signed copy ( with a little amusing comment) from Nole Jessop. I believe his son took over the grid and his publications too.
Not sure if they're still going, but it was great when there was community interaction between setters ( compiler's) and their fans. They would often drop hints and tips for solving without the use of technology ( cheating ).

It is a recommended starting word but there are many.

Re: My Word.........le
Thanks Bobby, I'll give that a try tomorrow.
It's good how they limit us to one puzzle a day, they could be quite addictive.
I refuse to purchase our lefty newspapers for the only thing worthwhile reading in their papers. The crosswords & other puzzles.
The last papers I bought for puzzles were the Courier Mail, for Jessops crossword when living in Sydney. I think he may have retired since then.
If you know of any other free puzzles, feel free to post them.
Now Miss M has decided to do musical theatre as well as dance next year, I'll be needing all the freebies I can get.
Being a tight-ass all these years has paid off, she wants for nothing and this is what counts.
We're going ok, am greatful that my mother taught me how to be super frugal.
or else I'd be roaming around with hole's in my underware
My daughter loves Zen Word, it's got a few annoying adds, but you just exit and re-open app to bypass them.
I read free books from Amazon Prime , and project Gutenberg, and if in the mood for audio books, Libravox.
Plenty of books online for free if you know where to look.
My daughterβs obsessed with books, is a huge reader too, so one of us had to go digital. I still adore my books, but I now swap them with friends , particularly novels.
It's essentially hoarding when you think about it, so I have made a huge effort to become more minimalist, and only have antique books and those worthwhile passing down through family after I'm dead now.
People have too much stuff in general, they hoard stuff they'll never read or use again, and when they're dead, it's their poor kids who have to sort it and pay to chuck stuff out.
If it's not being used, toss it!

In my last 2 house moves I threw away 90% of my stuff.
I downsized my place and it's much better than trying to look after a house and lawns.
It used to take me 1 hour and 20 minutes to mow the lawns.

Re: My Word.........le
We've done exactly the same.
We're living in our own forever 2 bedroom home and basically have had to start over from scratch after having left all my belongings behind first in Sydney 2012 ( parents stored my sentimental things) and I gave my furniture away to relatives and close friends, inorder to take a leap of faith Γ nd move to Melbourne, and then onto Ballarat in 2017 whereby we fled with just 2 backpacks a stroller, my Nans small heirloom cigar box and the clothes on our backs. This was a great opportunity to learn about minimalism, and the most important things in life like the value of faith, family and friends. Was humbling, the community wrapped their hearts and arms around us and we felt instantly welcome.
