Toyota petrol 4WDs

Post by sprintcyclist » Fri Oct 19, 2018 9:13 pm

......... Hey all I am fairly new to this forum but I manage a fleet of vehicles and in it we have 6 Toyota Hilux with the 1GR engine and all have reasonably regular maintenance, my 2007 dual cab 4x2 is the lowest mileage with 265000k next up 300,000 and the others range from 500,000k up to a 2008 that has just had a 650,000k service. none of these engines have even had a rocker cover lifted so I have no doubt to the durability of the engine with regular maintenance, one of the hilux's had a torque converter seal leak and a couple of them had alternator bearings replaced but I am sure all are still on the original water pumps as well.
In my opinion a fantastic power plant! ........

My SIL has a SUV ... a Nissan Patrol ... first thing he did was add "lights" to make it look like (my "impression") a semi-trailer. Plus "fog lights" and so forth. Looks ridiculous and my daughter won't drive it.

She has a Ford that runs on diesel and states to me that it is cheaper to run than petrol ... I gave up arguing about petrol -v- diesel ... my SIL still cannot believe that I knew more than he did about computers back in 1999. :rofl
