Don't get me wrongGood specs, thanks.
With the Ignis economy you would not dream of getting a diesel.
That is great economy with the MUX and towing a boat. Very impressive.
Had not thought of those being a handful around town. So it is really built for 'heavy' work?
Was the X-trail a 2.5 petrol, 6 speed auto? Was it easier around town?
I suppose if it is not used for towing often, might accept that ?
The MUX is a dream on the freeway and goes quite will in the bush, surprisingly well in fact.
It's only the zipping in and around it's heavy, and I hate parallel parking in it, heavy as.
The wife don't like it much, too big, too heavy and turbo lag gets to her.
I love it, love sitting on the freeway just cruising.
I monitor my fuel use on every car I have religiously.
It's a good way to identify a problem before it starts.
Around town, stop and start with just me and the missus, the MUX get slightly less mileage about 8 to 9 l/ 100k
But on the freeway, it's really good.
Inversely, the Ignis gets really great milage around town and slightly worse on a trip, up to 6.5l/ 100k in hilly country.
But to Canberra we get pretty much 5 to 5.5 l/ 100k every time.
The old x trail was a great car.
2.5 litre petrol
And was quite good on fuel when just cruising 8 to 9 l/100 k
But put the boat on and it was very thirsty, the worst fill was 25l/ 100k.
But we had the car packed up, the boat fully fueled (100 litres) and the air conditioning going all the way.
Was still quite a shock, I'll tell you.
It was an automatic too.
Those CTV transmissions.
I was dubious about it towing, but never had any issues, I should have fitted a tranny cooler though, because in hot weather the tranny was a bit temperamental.
After about 250000 it started to make a few noises, the engine was perfect, but the tranny was on its way out I think.
But overall, never let me down once, was comfortable to drive, quite capable as a tow vehicle and generally a Good reliable and nippy vehicle.
