Why are men so unsupportive with each other ?

I think across the board a lot of men AND women are psychologically infantile....
A lot of men and women are not being/have not been.. parented properly..hence they grow up
just plain dumb...
Im 73....Ive noticed it increasing for 30 years...
People are:
a) dumbed down by the systems under which we live....and
b) poorly parented....

Lazy parenting has a lot to do with it. The education system is equally to blame. It enforces all the negative aspects of identity politics (which is all negative) and the doom and gloom of climate change whilst neglecting to teach them any real world skills, let alone coping mechanisims. Of course this also goes back to lazy parenting as well.

I remember once attending a parent teacher interview..long time ago...
The teacher went to great pains to tell me that he taught "middle of the road"
I sought an explanation of the term as I hadnt heard it before.
He went on to say that the smart kids didnt need much attention as they
all had inquisitive minds...whilst the dumb kids would always be dumb...
Therefore he concentrated all his attention to the kids in "the middle of the road..."
OR simply put, the "average" kids...
His goal would be always to teach them to be "inquisitive"...
Food for thought I felt.
If a child hasnt got an inquisitive mind...well...he's going to struggle.....
AS a parent I studied for long hours and read many books on how to be a good parent.
Sadly, I dont think that happens these days in many families....
I have often thought children are not taught at school...they are baby sitted..
AND at home, the TV or the Ipod becomes the "sitter"...
But I digress...

I'll have to admit that most of this was over my head. I can see that the shunning of masculinity is stupid, but studying the psychology of it is not in my wheelhouse. I've never once considered that I wanted my mother or somebody like her to "take care of and provide for me". Since my teenage years, I've wanted to experience independence and take my chances with the world. I was a self centered person when I was a boy. I have learned to study people and learn from their behavior. I've found that the best way to find good friends is to be a good friend. I may be an island, but I have to trade with other nearby islands or my life will be lonely and lacking.
