Why not just replace the tap seal?

There is nothing hard about
Turning off the water
Unscrewing the tap
Taking out the old seal and putting in a new one
Screwing the tap back together
Turning on the water

Bingo..... No drips

I used to have to do it every time the parents in law came to visit.
Now I have fitted ceramic seals.
No drips and no way to overtightened the taps.

You trying to be a clever dicky there Val ?

Not at all.
I hate leaking taps, they annoy the shite out of me.
I have a few pet hates, mainly because my dad used to do it.

Nails instead of screws in hinges
After a while he started bending them over and there were half a dozen nails in each hole......aaaarrrggghhhhh

Running a rag from a dripping tap to the sink to stop the noise.
Just fix the damn thing.........aaarrrggghhhh

Slapping another sheet of corrogated iron over a hole in the roof.
I found 6 layers of iron in some places when I replaced his roof........aarrggghhhh

Painting around things instead of taking them down.
Seriously, he actually painted around his shaving mirror rather than take it down, I went off over that one.......aaaarrrrggghhh

Extension leads from room to room
I put a few power points in each room to stop him tripping over the damn things.
Aaaarrrggghhhh

There are others I can't be botherd writing.
Suffice to say, I fix things, I don't put up with things.
All my doors close perfectly
All my taps work perfectly
All my appliances work perfectly

The only thing I will not do is gardening.
I have gardening.
I have a dream
A world free from the plague of Islam
A world that has never known the horrors of the cult of death.
My hope is that in time, Islam will be nothing but a bad dream

All of the above would annoy me too. It's pointless doing a half job, that you will have to eventually redo, when you can spend just a little more time and do it right the first time.
