err, not quite.. .
the home phone was up to $36 a month just to be plugged in without calls... so I got rid of that.. I dont know why people can't let go...
but anyways... so look at it like this... that charge cancels out one of my mobile phones...
so basically... its $40 a month for 2 x phones...
unlimited calls
unlimited txt
24 gig of Data..
so that runs my computer internet while im working away and also runs my gps when needed ... I can do the banking on it or the phone... it keeps me contactable 24/7 for work and family... etc etc etc

I kept my home phone with an internet bundle of unlimited data, unlimited local and national calls, unlimited mobile calls and 100 overseas minutes and with 4G wifi I use that instead of mobile phone data.
I really only use my mobile for emergencies and for texting, which I do quite a lot of lol

To each their own! I use my mobile for texting and "in case of" an emergency. Home phone? It was only costing me $30 a month with calls. Mostly I keep in touch with friends and rellies via the Internet, most live interstate or overseas. I deliberately chose the NBN12 package as 12 Mbps is fast enough for email, browsing and Forums ... why would I want anything faster? I downloaded the Foxtel app yesterday and was watching full screen on the computer without a hitch. I have used Steam to download and play some adventure games. I see no reason to pay a LOT more to get "fast internet" and I am paying for what I ordered ... Basic NBN12 and VOIP. What other people pay is their business. Plus, I am now NOT using bloody Telstra for the landline phone.
