Lisa Jones - PA Election Manifesto
Dear PA Voters
I have been a member here for many years. I have seen this forum go through so much during that time.
Vision
My vision for PA is increasing diversity while maintaining our high tolerance of style and freedom of expression with little moderation.
I intend to implement a long term transition to a more open and welcoming place for new members and continue some of the privileges current active members enjoy.
I also intend to offer an open place to encourage diversity of opinion and more members who truly want to be active participants in this forum and believe this will be healthy for the forum and the community in the longer term.
A key aspect of my platform will be to put some safeguards in place when individuals are not acting in line with this vision.
A public view of this site to any visitor or search bots should reflect the spirit of an open and lightly moderated forum that exercises a unique feature of an elected administration. The reduction of publicly visible internal shit-fights will be maintained as it is not in the long term interests of this site.
Having said that, the freedom to freely express oneself and engage in direct confrontation that is not debating a topic but playing the man should be maintained, as this has been a long standing basic PA privilege.
The Sparta sub-forum will be open to all members. This sub-forum will be VERY lightly moderated.
It is important that the current long term membership have a place to discuss forum matters with the administration team. So all members that have access now will keep that access for this purpose. This sub-forum will not be visible to non-members and will be accessed by a password provided by the administration team.
A new sub-forum called “Forum Matters” or “Notice Board” will be introduced to post information that will keep members informed of board related matters. This sub-forum will be visible to the public. Issues such as forum down time or notices on glitches will be posted here.
In the interests of transparency, if a member is suspended or banned, there will be a thread outlining the reason for such action.
I am NOT in favour of bannings, however if a member persistently demonstrates they are not behaving in the spirit of the vision (e.g. shitfights in public sub-forums, thread fucking) then I will ban them.
Moderators
For too long we have not had a woman's touch in the administration team. I will add female member(s) to the position of moderator.
My intention is to appoint the following Moderator team : Neferti, Super Nova, Skippy. I feel it's important that PA members know this before they cast their vote.
The moderator team will have full authority to move, delete, lock and change any post or suspend a member that is deemed by any moderator to be inappropriate. Only I will be able to issue a permanent ban.
I am not going to set hard and fast rules. This is not Ozpol. I will rely on moderators to use their experience and judgement to make the right calls in the interest of achieving the vision.
Position on Banned Members
Current banned members are polluting Ozpol with their desire to undermine this site. We go there to defend ourselves. These are PA matters.
They will therefore remain banned during my term as Admin.
New Members
I will insist that new members be free from unnecessary personal attack just because they are new and need time to settle in.
Socks
Socks are not a problem provided they respect the simple rules of behaviour.
In summary, my platform addresses the past and present issues/challenges of PA.
It also provides for an opportunity to strengthen our core values and membership numbers.
I therefore ask for your support in the upcoming PA Election.
Cheers
Lisa Jones

From one of the rudest people on the forum!I will insist that new members be free from unnecessary personal attack just because they are new and need time to settle in.

Does this mean that you will refrain from calling all new members "multi trolls", "stalkers", "dole bludgers" etc?I will insist that new members be free from unnecessary personal attack just because they are new and need time to settle in.

Your manifesto is VERY much like SN's. Word for word in parts.
With the exception of those who are banned.
