Sydney Covid Outbreak

Post by Redneck » Wed Dec 30, 2020 3:43 pm

What are your thoughts on the current Sydney Covid Outbreak which started on the Northern Beaches area!

I am beginning to think its getting out of control.

The total number is now 138 apparently and spreading to other parts of Sydney and Wollongong

I also see Gladys is allowing the cricket test to go ahead which is also a worry as a potential super spreader event.

What are your thoughts? Should Gladys be cracking down harder?

I think there is much hypocrisy occurring here.
It seems strange that a family anywhere in Sydney/Wollongong/Central Coast is being restricted to 5 occupants, all of whom
are being encouraged to go outside and stage a barbque, even though the TV is inside where everyone
will watch the NYE fireworks...
YET other rules apply for the elite amongst us who hammer a piece of leather around a paddock
with a piece of wood (some of them very poorly, I might add)
The urge to stage a backyard barbque intrigues me...
Its as though social distancing will occur outside, yet for seven minutes whilst the fireworks
are on inside, its far too dangerous for all of those five occupants to remain in the loungeroom
watching tv....
Personally, I think Gladys is losing the plot.
I can only assume that the backyard barbque thing is being encouraged as restauranteurs
in Sydney will be saying....
WHY is indoor occupancy permitted in the suburbs of Sydney, and yet I cant have people
seated inside my restaurant unless I follow the one person per four square metre rule.
I, therefore have to convert to alfresco dining....
The whole thing has been a debacle of double standards, political incompetence, oversights
and apologies from day one.
I totally reject the ruling by Gladys that outdoor, ticketed, seated events are safer than
household gatherings.
If that was the case, why were outdoor ticketed seated events cancelled all over the
country from day one.
They were cancelled due to "expert medical advice"
NOW the "expert medical advice is allowing them"
Someone tell me that this is not just bullshit wrapped in dogshit.
To discover those who rule over you, first discover those who you cannot criticize...Voltaire
Its coming...the rest of the world versus islam....or is it here already...

I'm thinking the whole of Sydney will be in lockdown tomorrow but 25,000 at the SCG for the cricket next week is a bit rich.

The cricket is for 5 days starting the 7th of January 2021.
That's not for 9 days and outdoor places in the hot sun
are not ideal places for Covid transfer.

If people are restricted to 5 visitors there is no way in hell they should be cramming 25k into the SCG for the cricket.

You better hope that Gladys knows what she's doing.
I wouldn't want the people in Sydney to go through
what we went through in Melbourne.
