NSW has recorded 1,029 new COVID-19 cases in the 24 hours to 8:00pm last night.
It's the highest daily number in any state or territory since the start of the pandemic.
Another three people have died from the virus – the youngest, a man in his 30s.
People in NSW who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be given more freedoms from 12:01am on Monday, September 13.
For those who live outside the local government areas (LGAs) of concern, outdoor gatherings of up to five people (including children, all adults must be vaccinated) will be allowed in a person's LGA or within 5km from home
For those who live in the LGAs of concern, households with all adults vaccinated will be able to gather outdoors for recreation (including picnics) within the existing rules (for one hour only, outside curfew hours and within 5km of home). This is in addition to the one hour allowed for exercise
More to come.

It may seem shocking but that's out of over 12,500,000 tests.

I suspect that the reason for all the restrictions have more to do with the woefully, inadequate hospitals that cannot manage a pandemic.

I am wondering if people should be treated for Covid at home where possible?Nom De Plume wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 1:32 pmI suspect that the reason for all the restrictions have more to do with the woefully, inadequate hospitals that cannot manage a pandemic.
Medication and oxygen bottles could be delivered.
That's what they did in India as the hospitals were overloaded.
Taking sick people to hospital just spreads the disease into hospitals
and contaminates them.
I think people should only go to hospital if the medication they supply and the oxygen
is not helping them enough.
That requires a doctor phoning many times day to check up on the patient.

Medical oxygen is purified.. unlike that which was used by the desperate in India.
It is also extremely dangerous because it is an accelerant. You can also OD on O2!
Now, if we can't trust folks to play by the current restrictive rules, then we certainly can't trust them to use O2 responsibly.
I can speculate that if it were allowed, then pulmonary edema would increase.

Thanks Nom,
yes - oxygen is dangerous in the wrong hands -
we may not have a choice if we get too many hospital patients.
Friends and family would have to turn into doctors and nurses
and hope for the best.
At least they could get advice over the phone.
A real doctor on the phone should be able to hear if the home carers were incapable?
Many people already have home oxygen for lung problems.
Many people already take multiple medications per day at home.
It is possible.

Possible and expensive, but not yet necessary.
