Yep. Things were more desperate in that arid and sparser region of the Middle-East.
Papuans used canal farming 9,000 years ago. But in a rich providing ecosystem of PNG, the need wasn't a priority.
Human turned on Human in the Middle-East. The Hunter was replaced by the Warrior, the Gatherer by the Farmer.
Cannibalism was in effect demographic control in Micronesia.
When working in PNG I used to live with natives in jungle near Tsilitsili and they show me big rock where their grand parents used to cook humans and I am sure they were salivating just looking at me. I told them that I have such a decease that would wipe out the whole tribe if I was eaten.
Was endemic across the entire Pacific. Some tribes of First Nations, first born children became the first course shortly following childbirth. Was believed that this gave strength to the mother, tribe, and 2nd born child. Unbelievable hu. And only 200 odd years ago here in Australia.

Adrenochrome wasn't invented, rather was discovered by many races, tribes of people.

Lol, brings new meaning to "chroming", hu 8-)

Humans aren't as different to one another as they'd like to think.

Are we all not animals?

This reminds me, I need to buy a leather bound 1st edition of Animal Farm. Sir George Orwell
Not an easy find.

Perhaps in the whole scheme of things, white animals are farmed, and blacks were free- range, up until relatively recently.

There's a song that goes along these lines too....

Are humans not still being commercially farmed and trafficked?

Utilised for certain purposes.

Cannon fodder , target practice, organ harvesting, yes, and adrenochrome?
Black slavery, white slavery, and everything in between slavery?

We humans take a lot of pleasure in trying to seperate ourselves from what repulses us, as though it were an artform, but if mass extinction were to occur, and you had yourself and child, even a loved one even to sustain, would you not exploit a readily available source of food?
If it meant the difference between life & death?

Like Jews during WW2, did they not consume their deceased brothers and sisters in concentration camps when they were starving to death too?

I guess the real question is, at what point would you contemplate it?
At what desperate state would you yourself yield to Cannibalism?

So it's not a question of if, rather is a question of when, at what point would you yield to eating fellow mankind?
Even fairytales and folklores of old intended for children's own consumption speak of times when ugly old witches fattened then ate small children.

Is fasting part of Paleo diet?
Because large prey, even during the stone age, was less abundant than small prey, humans may have evolved fat reserves to support extended fasting for days and even weeks between successful encounters and hunts.

Eating large fatty animals in combination with having to endure fasting periods selected for the body’s ability to easily use stored fat and fat from food for fuel. This is especially true for the brain, which is the most important tool that ancient humans had for hunting much stronger and larger prey.

I wouldn't hesitate. The skinning of a mammoth must have been a real bugger though.
