It is everything Sheepy's blogs weren't: interesting, entertaining, open, personal and warm.

Does anyone know if tomatoes can be successfully grown in pots? My dog, the Great Fucking Destroying of Everything of Any Significant Meaning, has now driven me to such desperation. Perhaps I can find some use for her as fertilizer?? ;)

Tomatoes will grow anywhere.

Hell, I remember as a kid in California sneaking into the reservoir and tomatoes were growing there, watermelons too.

Plenty of compost is the key, plus a few deep waterings but in a pot bit more frequent watering. Dig in some dolomite lime and have some epsom salts handy to prevent blossom end rot.

The soil here is typical of a desert region sandy and water resistant..so I have to grow in pots mostly, if at all. They grow well in pots but the pots dry very quickly so keep the water coming . But can be done.
