No bail for ‘explosive suitcase’

A MAN who was allegedly caught with a suitcase containing explosives during a domestic dispute at a home in Sydney’s east will remain behind bars on remand.
Marcus Tekorona, of Macquarie Fields, was arrested on Sunday at a Chifley property where police found a suitcase with wires protruding from it.
Police allege in court documents that the 22-year-old had the explosives and also a gun when he attempted to intimidate a woman at the house on Saturday, and allegedly returned the next day to again intimidate the woman before he was arrested.
Police conducted a search of the property and allegedly found a gun, ammunition and the suspicious suitcase.
The home was evacuated before officers called in the bomb squad, who found explosives and detonators inside the suitcase, it will be alleged.
Police also seized further items including outlaw motorcycle gang paraphernalia.
Tekorona was charged with a raft of offences including possessing explosives for an unlawful purpose.
His bail was refused in Central Local Court. He will reappear in court next month.
