Dentist in patients sex case

A DENTIST accused of indecently assaulting two patients while they were undergoing dental procedures at a surgeries in Sydney’s inner south has faced court.
Police began investigating Bassem Fouad following reports a 25-year-old woman was allegedly sexually touched during a dental consultation at a Mascot practice in June.
The 59-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated sexual touching of another person, relating to two alleged incidents that occurred over an hour.
Police allege that he sexually touched the woman without her consent, under circumstances of aggravation arising due their patient-doctor relationship.
Further investigation found a 41-year-old woman had also allegedly been assaulted during a dental procedure at a Botany surgery in November 2016. The dentist was then charged with an additional offence of aggravated indecent assault, victim under authority of the offender, on August 11.
Fouad is on conditional bail and was represented by a lawyer at court on Thursday.
