Electric vehicles/charging stations and emissions targets by 2030....
According to the NRMA, there will be...wait for it....60 public fast chargers rolled
out by the NSW Government.....
Thats right....60....
Wow...throughout the entire state NSW will have 60....
Using an NRMA fast charger is as simple as turning off your car, plugging the supplied cable into the socket, and pushing the blue button to start charging. For most electric vehicles, an 80 per cent charge takes about 30 minutes.

An abundancy of questions come to mind...
How much does it cost to run an electric vehicle....
How much tax will we pay to own and run an electric vehicle...(to replace petrol excises)
What compensation will we receive when our petrol driven vehicles become worthless, as we
are encouraged to convert to electric vehicles....
If you own a petrol driven motor vehicle in 2030, who would want to buy it....
They could well be worthless...
Will the government give us compensation for petrol driven vehicles...
How and where will buses, SUVs, semi trailers and the like be powered/charged...
Where do residents in high rise apartment blocks charge their vehicles...
Australias green house gas emissions target is to reduce emissions by 26/28% from 2005
levels by 2030...obviously further reductions from then onwards....
Part of this will be with the use of electric vehicles....
Thats 9 years away...

Typical of the morons in power.

In Europe, distances between places are much shorter.
In the UK, one tank of juice will get you across the country and back.
You can visit many places on less than a tank and the roads are wide and set fpor distance travel.

In Australia, you cant get to the next major city on a tank of petrol, and some take several.
EVs will never be an option for distances like we have in Australia, we are just too big.
Besides, we dont have the density that requires sever emission controls that they do in Europe.

But there are other issues that are quietly ignored by those morons wanting EVs in Australia.
Firstly, setting up charging stations.
If every house in your street had 1 EV per house, the grid would not function,
An EV actually uses more energy to charge than a normal household.
The power lines will be glowing, and if every house has 2 EVs or 3 EVs, the lines will melt.

Then there is the batteries.
Great stuff, like all batteries, they have a very finite life.
At first you may be able to travel 200k on a charge, but after a few years that will be 150k then 100k then 50k then around the block.
Oh Dear, new batteries required (several thousand dollars later) you have new batteries, but the old ones will have to be disposed of.
These batteries are very toxic, very, very toxic and nothing in them is recoverable.
So we start creating an even bigger pollution problem.
They have to be manufactured using mining processes and are made of toxic substances using toxic processes with toxic byproducts.

Then there are accidents.
These batteries will catch fire, no question.
In Australia, no fire bigade has the equipment (which is itself very toxic) that can extinguish these fires.
Overseas they are told to let them burn out as water causes even more issues.
The smoke is highly toxic, the fire burns very, very hot and you cant put it out.
Only a bit of a problem on the open street, but imagine in an underground car park.

You cant tow worth a damn with an EV, yeah sure they have the power, but you will have to charge them more frequently.
Australians love to tow, boats, vans, horses, tools etc.
But with an EV, that will all have to stop.
Unless you are happy towing 50k and then spending a few hours recharging.

And the re-charging will be fun.
Not simply pull into a petrol station and fillup, it takes hours to fully charge an EV.
The line up at the end of the freeway will be amazing.
And remember, we are a hot country, so on goes the air conditioning.
with the subsequent reduction in available distance.

EVs are a toy, nothing more, nothing less.
They are just as polluting , or more so, than diesel or petrol cars.
Sure, when we have the technology right....go for it.
But at the moment they are too expensive, too dangerous and have a very short life.
