More tragedy

Post by Black Orchid » Wed Feb 19, 2020 7:23 pm

Rowan Baxter said he loved his wife and children “to the moon and back”.

Weeks later, he is suspected of killing them - and himself - as his marriage broke down.

A prolific Facebook user, his profile is filled with pictures of him spending time with his three young children.

Mostly selfies, they are accompanied by comments of adoration.

“Goodnight my beautiful babies. Daddy loves you all very much,” he said on December 30.

“Always in my heart,” read another post on January 1.

Nine days later, he posted, “Goodnight my babies. Daddy loves you.”

On Wednesday, Baxter and the children - aged three, four and six - were dead.

His wife, Hannah Baxter, is in a critical condition with severe burns after the car the family was in was engulfed in flames in Brisbane suburb Camp Hill.

A man helped rescue her from the fiery inferno. He also suffered burns.

Apparently he doused his wife and 3 little kids in petrol, stabbed himself then set them alight. Damned coward.

The 31-year-old woman who suffered “horrific” burns in a fatal car fire that took the lives of her three children has died in hospital in Brisbane.

Hannah Baxter passed away at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital on Wednesday night less than 24 hours after the incident, which is being treated as a possible case of family violence.

The children – Laianah, four, Aaliyah, six, and Trey, three – died in the car after it burst into flames on a quiet suburban street in leafy Camp Hill, in Brisbane’s east, on Wednesday morning during their regular school run.

Hannah’s estranged husband Rowan Baxter, 42, who was at the scene also died, after reportedly stabbing himself.

Hannah Baxter had managed to get out of the burning car, but was on fire.

Comments made by Detective...."Is this an issue of a woman suffering significant domestic violence, and her and her children perishing at the hands of the husband?” he asked.
“Or is it an instance of a husband being driven too far by issues that he’s suffered by certain circumstances into committing acts of this form?”
The public would think you should refrain from making such comments, Detective....
Such comments are outside the perimeter of your duties and responsibilities....
In other words....pull your fkn head in....

I hope that idiot cop is reprimanded. These morons infest all professions now but Police shouldn't be seen to be excusing something like this. That's abhorrent.

I read the coward doused his wife and kids with petrol before setting them alight but gave himself an easy trip by stabbing himself.

OMG those poor little kids. Probably lucky the wife died. Who could live with something like this?

Just read that the killer was on a domestic violence order which he breached by contacting Ms Clarke...
The Police then served him with a Notice To Appear in court for the breach.
He was due to appear in court in March.
Relatives stated that the killer was stalking Ms Clarkes every move...
Is it drawing a long bow to say that the Police would have known this.
The problem we have here is another classic example of poorly drafted legislation.
If someone breaches a DVO, why is the offender simply given a Notice to Appear.
Why isn't he arrested and held in custody (without bail) to appear in court the next day.
It seems to be courting disaster to simply give him the paperwork....
DVO's are contravened all the time...the punishment for breaching a DVO is up to a maximum of three
years gaol or a fine up to a maximum of $14,000...(in Qld)
Why give offenders the opportunity to kill by just giving them the Notice To Appear....
Poor legislation....very poor.....

Typical of our "justice" system. are people that stupid they believe that if they issue out a DVO, or a "notice to appear" in court, that the criminals will actually take any notice of it? As long as they are allowed rights and free-will, they will laugh in the face of all this and do as they please.

Now look what has happened... he's destroyed his family, killed his children and destroyed the life of his mrs. I hold the "justice" system accountable for this as well.

:thumb
I agree....research into penalties imposed throughout Australia indicates that once again, the gutless
Courts impose minor penalties on offenders who breach a DVO.
In some cases, the fine amounted to nothing more than a slap on the wrist...eg $100...the equivalent
of a minor traffic offence.
Therefore as well as poor legislation, we have the Police who perhaps realise that the offender
will be treated leniently if charged, and the Courts who, as always are gutless....
Somethings wrong with the whole system..
Oh I get it...the pennys just dropped....
We cant gaol offenders...that means we'll need more gaols...more prison officers..etc etc...
It comes back to the dollar...…
:WTF
