It's outrageous.
I heard about it on 3AW radio today.
The mother is claiming that she was hypnotised by the pokies.
3AW says it happens on average 4 times per day
in Melbourne where an ambulance has to attend.

You really have a thing about the Chinese, don't you? ]Black Orchid wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 6:19 pmWill lay money that she is Chinese. They are renowned for it here.
Why?
Are they everywhere in your neighbourhood?
I don't particularly have any interest in them and none in my neighbourhood but they tend to be rather bossy - push in rather than join the queue - yabber in whatever language.

BUT the local news is full of this daily. They are prolific gamblers and more often than not are the ones to leave their kids in the car whilst they are gambling in some club or casino.

You'd think that all pokies would employ a car park attendant
to stop this from happening again.
They make huge amounts of money and so does the Govt.
but little kids are forgotten in the piles of cash.
This is about greed.

A lot of them can't afford to police their carparks and surrounding streets Bobby just in case some idiot leaves their kids in the car. The casinos can but then you have all the small clubs and pubs as well.
I had lunch this week in a small local club and it was SO quiet. It was great! The Manager told us they are so quiet because they don't have enough pokies for the Chinese. They had about 10.

The Govt. increased the tax take on the machines by forcing a change in software.
The take in Victoria went from pokie machines at 89% payout to 87% payout.
That's 2% more for the greedy Govt. that was already taking the lions share.
The could have made it 87.1 % had had enough for every car park to employ security -
but no - greed came first.
By the way - Blackjack or Roulette (with one zero) has a payout of 97%.
Why do people flush their money down the toilet on the worst bet in town
and even leave their baby to die in a hot car to do it?
It would be better to close all pokies down - stuff them.

In NSW you don't have to pay gaming machine tax if your quarterly profit from the machines is less than $250,000 for clubs and less than $50,000 for hotels.
