Malaysian Airlines has had a bad year.
Again we will probably never know who is responsible. What a brand destroyer.
That could have been me or my family on that plane.
MH17: rebels ‘destroying’ clues, claims Ukraine
Last updated at 5:26AM, July 19 2014
The Ukrainian government has accused pro-Russian rebels of trying to destroy evidence at the Malaysian Airlines crash site. It claims rebels have removed 38 bodies from the scene and taken them to a morgue in the insurgent-controlled city of Donetsk, where “specialists with clearly Russian accents” said they would conduct autopsies. “The Ukrainian government officially announces: terrorists with the support of Russia are trying to destroy proof of this international crime,” the government said in a statement. It added that separatist forces were blocking access to the site and searching for lorries to transport the wreckage to Russia. One rebel commander told AFP reporters that dozens of bodies had been taken to a morgue in Donetsk as rescue workers continued to collect body parts under their supervision.

You would actually put your family on the only airline that flies over the Ukraine to save petrol?

I was flying for business in March when the first Malaysian airliner was lost. Now, when flying for business (and pleasure) again this happens ... Americans are making much of this while forgetting they did the exact same thing - Iran Air Flight 655.

Some airlines, like British Airways, were not flying over Ukraine. The authority seems to lie with the airline.

Qantas, Cathay Pacific, British Airways, Korean Airlines, Air Berlin, Asia Airlines, China Airlines etc have all been avoiding the area for months.
I read today that flying over the Ukraine saved Malaysian Airlines $1500 in fuel and 10 minutes in flying time.

So that's the price of all those people.
Life is cheap. Beyond the lose of their airplane and life and the reputational damage.... a bargain.
All I can say is................

In March, a day after the first Malaysian jet went down, I was flying Delta Airlines when we hit turbulence. People were screaming as if the plane were going to go down. I just had a laff to myself knowing that planes don't go down in a bit of rough air ...
