Big issue in the UK this week. This guy was running down gays, describing gay sex as depraved while having gay sex........ with his clergy bum buddies. The hypocrisy of it all.

I am beginning to think the Catholic god is a repressed gay entity.

Vatican accused of cover up over Cardinal Keith O'Brien's 'sexual conduct'
The Vatican has been accused of orchestrating a cover-up over the disgraced Scottish Cardinal Keith O'Brien amid claims that it knew of allegations against him for five months but kept them secret.

An association of victims of sex abuse by clergy said there were many cardinals who had covered up sexual abuse by priests. "It might sound extreme but we suspect most of the cardinals to be complicit in covering up predator priests. Crises have erupted in country after country and the pattern is always the same," David Clohessy of Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests or SNAP, said. "Their presence in Rome rubs salt into the wounds of betrayed Catholics and suffering victims. It sends precisely the wrong message – that you can engage in wrongdoing but you won't face any consequences. They should voluntarily go home."

Barbara Blaine, the president of the organisation, said: "What other phrase could describe what is happening other than cover-up? There is a cloud hanging over the whole conclave."

Cardinal O'Brien's replacement as leader of the Catholic Church in Scotland, Archbishop Philip Tartaglia, admitted that the scandal had dealt a major blow to its "credibility and moral authority". Addressing a Lent mass in Glasgow, he said: "Many reproaches have been aimed at the Church and at individuals over this matter.

"The most stinging charge which has been levelled against us in this matter is hypocrisy, and for obvious reasons.

Unquestioned, and unquestionable, authority... what do you expect.

I guess I expect at least the leaders and those at the top to at least abide by their own dogma and preachings. The hypocricy is just bloody amasing.

Bishop preaches:

"It is against Dog for men to shag other men. ra ra ra... gay marriage .. ra ra ra..... "

Goes out the back during a late night bible bashing season, has a few wines and ...

Shags a few men..... again.

What makes me laugh the most is the number of Catholics that think this is all OK because he has come clean (tee hee), resigned quickly and will ask for forgiveness. What a bloody stupid organisation.

Let them have sex as it is a natural urge and stop this celibacy.... an unnatural restraint.... for a lifetime.

Don't get me started on the concept of automatic forgiveness.

Who the fuck gave them the right to forgive for crimes against others?

Oh, that's right... their imaginary friend in the sky

No, let's get you started.

What a laugh it is. I never understood it as a kid and concluded..... well you can guess.

Logic:

i am a crime boss responsible for killing many people.
I go to church on Sunday, repent and all is forgiven. A few Hail Mary's and a couple of hundred bucks in the tin.
Next week I do it all again.
On my death bed they read me my last rites. I am forgiven for all sins in life.
Off to heaven I go.

The world biggest con that has over a billion people buy into, not counting other christian branches from this.

My daugther who is 5 now has never heard the word "god" yet. I am waiting for the day when she will ask "what is this thing the other kids talk about". I still am not sure how I will respond. I want her to make up her own mind.

Maybe it is a way of teaching distrust in the shit the authorities preach. For example, I am sure that the story of Santa, Tooth Fairy and Easter Bunny really taught me that adults are just lying fuckers and tell me bullshit. So I was on my guard from that point on. When God BS arrived I was already conditioned to accept that some things preached as facts... are not.

God is the adult Tooth Fairy for those that need something to explain why 20 cents appears in my glass over night, magically.

Excellent.

Do they ever ask questions about why we are here, where we go when we die ....etc?
