Is money a good enough reason to allow someone to come into Australia?

Australia has launched a new type of visa for wealthy foreigners who are willing to invest millions in the country.

Dubbed the “golden ticket” visa, individuals will need AU$5 million (£3.3 million) to qualify. The money must be invested in certain assets that are based in Australia including managed funds, government bonds and infrastructure projects.

Just another way to allow the Chinese to buy up the rest of Australia. Meanwhile, young Aussies can't get apprenticeships and have to compete against overseas students for University admission

These are the kind of immigrant most any country would want. Otherwise they'd do to Canada or the States. Would imagine that AUS already had some version of this visa in the past.

There is a push in the US to give foreign students who graduate with a business or tech/science MA or PhD from an American an automatic green card upon graduation b/c the ones that want them but don't get them are then forced to go back to their home countries or Canada and start up the same business they could have started in the US.

If the US did that, nearly every country including Australia would stop providing scholarships to study in the US. The whole point is to bring that brain back. US colleges would lose a tremendous revenue stream, not to mention the enrichment that overseas students bring to universities.

I wonder if that is being considered ... it is never mentioned by politicians who support the idea. The media often gives examples of graduates who went on to great success in Canada or India who wanted to remain in the USA. Seems Canada actively seeks the Indian graduates of American universities who are forced to return home.
