Got some bad pork from Coles once and spent two days sick with food poisoning. When I complained, the butcher said he'd skin me alive and hang me on a meat hook if I didn't shut the fuck up. Now I shop at Aldi. Those Germans do it right.

I've always found my local store has a great attitude. I can return anything and get my money back - no questions asked. I bought some pre-packaged rump steak and there was a large piece of hidden fat. I whinged to the butcher a couple of days later and he gave me twice the quantity that I bought without returning the meat or having my docket. They've taken back so called animal meat because the magpies wouldn't touch it and fruit that wouldn't ripen.

Coles is also taking a stance against caged animal farming and is introducing all free range products. Out of the big two supermarkets - Coles is by far the fresher, friendlier option. Every online complaint earns a $5 voucher too, so it's worthwhile letting them know when they don't come up to standard.

You can't blame any large business for appealing against such a large judgment, but in this case the woman had such a long history of bad health prior to the accident, was on the road to recovery and the accident set her back quite considerably.
