Hacktivist group Anonymous has reportedly tracked down the man who bullied Amanda Todd, a 15-year-old Canadian girl who committed suicide after suffering torment that led to depression and anxiety.

Anonymous named Todd's alleged bully on Monday in a post on Pastebin.com. The accusers allege that the man who targeted Todd, made her flash him and then turned her life into a living nightmare is a 30-year-old from New Westminster, British Columbia. The post describes him as the man who "extorted amanda todd for pictures. This is the pedophile that social engineered Amanda Todd into supplying him nude pictures."

Anonymous also revealed his address.

Vice magazine posted information that reportedly further links Todd to the alleged bully, including Google Map screenshots of his house, his Facebook profile, chat conversations and screenshots from a "jailbait" website account supposedly tied to the man.

Vice reports that Anonymous got involved in tracking down Todd's bully after nude autopsy photos of deceased Amanda Todd leaked online.

Anonymous commented on its involvement in finding those linked to Todd's suicide.

“We generally don’t like to deal with police first hand but were compelled to put our skills to good use protecting kids,” read an email sent by Anonymous to Canada's CTV News. “Ironically we have some good people in Vancouver who brought this to our admin’s attention. It’s a very sad story that affects all of us.”

The man who Anonymous identified as Todd's bully appeared in court on Monday on charges of sexual assault and sexual interference with a minor, unrelated to Todd, CTV reported. The man claims he was Todd's friend and pointed the finger at a New York man who was harassing her.

Todd, who lived in Coquitlam, B.C., an area by Vancouver, committed suicide last Wednesday. In early September, she posted a YouTube video detailing her struggle with bullying, self-harm and suicide attempts.

The torment began, according to Todd's YouTube video, after she flashed a man online when she was in seventh grade. One year later, she said, he tracked her down on Facebook and forwarded her topless photo to everyone. She was bullied at each school she went to, beat up by angry girls and attempted to kill herself by drinking bleach.

Todd's family is distraught by her passing, but her father finds solace in the fact that his daughter now has some peace.

“She was very courageous and I really love that she made that video,” her father Norm told the Vancouver Sun. “She told me why she made it — she wanted to send a message out so that it wouldn’t happen to someone else, so no one would have to go through what she went through [...] She did that on her own and her message is being delivered now. It makes me happy that her voice is still alive and being heard."

The two had planned to get tattoos together. Amanda wanted hers to read "Stay Strong" on her arm. Norm plans to get the "Stay Strong" tattoo for his daughter, according to the Sun.

Children of 15 committing suicide because they can no longer handle being teased is not something most people have had to cope with.

When I was a kid, if somebody called you a nasty name, you turned a blind eye and ignored them. If you showed annoyance, they would continue. If someone kicked you in the playground when the Teacher wasn't watching, you kicked them back, when the Teacher wasn't watching!

I have no idea whether the Internet has made it easier for bullies but I doubt it. Bullies are bullies, pure and simple.

Despite what every parent says ... "children are MORE MATURE than we were at their age". I disagree. I distinctly remember how I felt at various ages.

The internet has introduced more contact with "evil people", though most of those who do horrible things to kids are known to them .........

Inspirational, Quadripalegic Blogger @daveonwheels Exposed as Hoax

Last Thursday, the online world mourned the death of David Rose, a deaf and quadriplegic blogger with cerebral palsy who entertained the masses with his humorous posts. The 24-year-old Anaheim, Calif. man had a huge following on his blog, Facebook and Twitter. He was in the hospital fighting pneumonia when he was “whisked away by angels” on Oct. 11, according to a tweet posted by his sister Nichole to his account. Nichole Rose included a link to a farewell letter from her brother, theCHIVE reported.

“Always do what is right. Always! But forgive yourself if you forget sometimes,” an excerpt from the letter reads. The touching note even moved Kim Kardashian to tweet the blogger’s words of wisdom.

There was only one problem: it was all a hoax.


Shortly after Nichole Rose reported her brother’s death, a suspicious reader named Kristi-Anne delivered a scathing exposé of both Nichole and David Rose, starting with the fact that the photos on David’s social media accounts appeared to have been of another man with cerebral palsy, Hunter Dunn. She also discovered that most of David Rose’s tweets were posted from TweetDeck, an application used to manage multiple social media accounts; David Rose, who claimed to be posting online using a Tobii eye tracking system, would not have been able to use that program. Bloggers from theCHIVE also conducted their own investigation, which included hiring a private investigator and scanning a database of death records. There was no record of David Rose’s death.

Following Kristi-Anne’s report, which speculates that the person behind David Rose was a pedophile who used the account to get close to sympathetic young women, Nichole Rose responded to the post in a series of revealing comments on the blog.

David was just a character, a part of my psyche, and fame would soon reveal what it has revealed today. So, the character passed. In hindsight it probably would have been better just to shut it all down and have everyone wonder what the hell happened, but the final post was meant to have the effect it did. To inspire people to love and live a better life, and the public knowledge that it came under this false pretense takes it all away. I hope that people who were moved by it still live by it, but it seems unlikely.
I realize how people must feel now and the truth is, I hate myself every bit as much as you all must hate me. I know no one cares how I feel, but I just want to stress that I’m not some smug, self-righteous bastard with a “oh shucks, I got caught” attitude.

But the comments went further — the blogger behind “David Rose” revealed that “Nichole Rose” didn’t exist, either.

There is no conspiracy here, just a guy with a twisted psyche who realizes he’s caused a lot of damage and now needs to try to figure out how he’s going to live with himself.
Who is this guy? Well, as contrite and ashamed as I am, I don’t have a death-wish, at least not yet. Getting close though. I have no desire to have the shambles of my life completely ruined over this.
The unnamed (male) blogger went on to insist that his motivation was neither celebrity nor fame and apologized repeatedly over the course of a 1,192-word confession.

On a final note I’d like to let everyone know that on the evening of the fictitious David’s passing, I came home and sobbed through the night. I mean absolutely wailed and shed more tears than I’d ever had, for hours on end. Not at the character’s passing or the fear that I’d soon be found out, but rather, it was strictly a “what have I DONE” scenario, deeply set in remorse and awareness of the emotional hurt that has been caused.
To all of those people affected, from those I’d never exchanged a word with to the ones I’d had lengthy and heartfelt conversations with over the years, I apologize.
Whoever the unidentified blogger is, he is probably wishing he had practiced what he preached to David Rose’s nearly 16,000 Twitter followers.

The difference is that this 30 year old man got a teenage girl to do something stupid in a moment that most teenagers are guilty of nd then systematically did an 'Aussie' on her and stalked her non stop, found out what school she was at, what school she transferred to and then gave out her information to any new school she went to by finding out kids associated with the schools on Facebook.

It was more than a simple case of bullying.

Canadian police arrest schoolgirls for bullying

Eight teenage girls have been charged with criminal harassment over bullying at a high school in Ontario, the latest in a string of high-profile and tragic incidents in Canada.

Police in the city of London, 200km west of Toronto, said the girls were arrested after an investigation into physical, emotional and online bullying of another girl at the school.

They were charged and released on a promise to appear in court. They have also been suspended from school.

"Bullying will not be tolerated in our community. The behaviour exhibited by these students is reprehensible and will be appropriately dealt with by the criminal justice system," London Police Service said in a statement.

Police said they made sure the victim was supported and safe before they dealt with the accused bullies.

The arrests follow news last week of the suicide of Canadian teen Amanda Todd, who killed herself after years of bullying, including sexual exploitation on the internet. Todd posted a YouTube video about a month before her death to share her unhappiness and torment.
