Former ABC presenter Andy Muirhead says he is sorry for accessing thousands of "vile and disgusting" child pornography images.



I used to watch Collectors and was disgusted to hear that he had been arrested for accessing and possessing child porn.

" Defence lawyer Kim Baumeler said Muirhead had broken up with his girlfriend at the time, which made him increasingly socially isolated". Yeah, that explains it all ... NOT! He is only 36 and has ruined his life, what an idiot. His ex girlfriend had a lucky escape. Wonder whether it was she who dobbed him in? Next step would have been getting access to children and becoming a true paedophile. Unbelievable that men can do this to innocent children. Hope he spends some time in gaol!

I totally agree, Mantra. I thought he was a nice bloke. Curiosity? BS .... he had "12,000 images of child pornography and 24 videos on his computer" He was stupid enough to think that he had deleted everything .... definitely gaol time for him but I bet he gets away with it ........... he is a paedophile in the making. SN I was thinking along the lines of some long term badass crim, possibly named Nigel, and his mates 'dating' him while he is inside, hence "That'll learn him" . I have heard that even chemical castration has little effect on those sick fucks. Execution sounds bloody good to me.

The point is there are victims. The fact the images exist verifies that. By having a market of viewers it creates the demand and hence the victims. Viewing child porn is not a victimless crime. That's why it is so serious.

I totally agree with you Neferti. Unfortunately it isn't only strangers who are paedophiles.

Some very helpful information on the site below, re: Sex Offender Registry. More parents/caregivers need to be made aware of such sites. Paedophiles not only groom the child, they also groom the family/ies. Even though I have no children, as yet, I'm very aware of how people behave around my young relatives.

What I want to know is WHY would some guy who appears normal, want to get his rocks off looking at nude children (and obviously worse). Worst of the worst. Death by castration is the only solution. Death by hanging is too good for this lot.
