Not obsessed, but yes I did have a 40 channel CB I got from Dick Smith hooked upto a ground plain aerial at age 14. These days the walkie talkies have the same frequencies/channels, so you can slag off at the road work crews holding up traffic.

I've never understood the fascination some people have with CB radios. All that crackling - a couple of unintelligible words and then over and out - although I know they don't say that specifically.

It's a man thing, Mantra. Goes with country music, trucks and being "on the road" a lot ... or something. Before CB radios boys/men had crystal sets. Nowadays everyone has a mobile phone, iPhone or whatever. Women will never understand why men do certain things and vice versa. Don't bother about the whys and wherefores.
