I haven't heard of a Medion and didn't know Aldi sold them. There have always been good reports about Toshiba.

I've generally stuck with Acer and had few problems with them.

I think it is more than just brands these days you need to provide the model numbers you are looking at and compare. As far as quality of build ...etc I still have to see it and touch it before making my decision. I purchased a Del with good specs a year ago... the keyboard feels like crap and it moves when you type. Other Dells did not have this problem.
