The London Mirror reported Benedict Barboza is furious with the Australian DJs, Mel Greig and Michael Christian, whose call duped his wife, 46.

But what they forget to mention is that Benedict Barboza (The nurses husband) is equally furious with Hospital management... but why?

Three days after the incident, Saldanha was found dead in her London apartment.

Barboza was also critical of hospital chiefs for their handling of the incident last week.

Close friend Stephen Almeida told the newspaper: “He’s very angry about all the proceedings, not only about the DJs but all the handling of the situation in the hospital.

"He feels very angry about the hospital management. He’s been full of stress about the whole thing. It’s not a very nice time.”

No wonder the hospitals management don't wish to investigate, this and donated an undisclosed sum of money to this family instead.

I liken this the hush-pay, how about you?

Is it fair that two young Australian DJ's cop all the slack?
When it's clear, the deceased woman's husband thinks both the Hospital and DJ's were to blame for his wife's death.

Why isn't this being addressed by ours or their media, and why is the British tabloid instigating a social-media witch-hunt targeting our Australian DJ's, though being careful not to mention the husbands anger towards the Hospitals management?

Australian police and Scotland yard should be investigating hospital management, just as they are our radio DJ's.

Why aren't they?

Meanwhile, the Scotland Yard on Sunday contacted their Australian counterparts for interviewing two radio presenters who made a prank call that apparently led to an Indian-origin nurse's suicide, as the DJs were said to be in hiding amid global outrage.

46-year-old Jacintha Saldanha was found hanging at nurses' quarters next to the private King Edward VII hospital in Marylebone, central London on Friday, The Sun reported.

Scotland Yard is understood to have asked police in Sydney for assistance, with a view to interviewing the two DJs ahead of an inquest into Jacintha Saldanha's death.

If accurate, that rules out an accidental overdose.

Had Jacintha confided in her husband and or work colleagues regarding the hospitals management of the fallout following the hoax?

If she did, she had 3 days to do so...

Who found her hanging in her apartment?

Who cared enough about her to go check on her when she failed to show up for work that horrible morning?

We know someone (presumably a work colleague) did, but who exactly?

Had she confided in this person, and enough so to cause them to concern for her welfare, hence they went to check-up on her that morning?

And why is there little mention of the colleague to whom she put the hoax call through to, and or how she's coped with the fallout from this tragedy?

There seems to be a wall/code of silence being enforced at The King Edward VII Hospital. They don't even want to hold an enquiry into her death, much to the family's despair.

Will hush-pay be enough to pacify this grief-stricken family indefinitely?


If so, she will have died in vain as well as shame.

Something struck me last night as I watched the 7.30 report on the 2DayFM prank scandal. After three days of the story I was only half paying attention until radio veteran Mike Carlton piped up about how the Austereo management had let down “these kids” who were now at the centre of a firestorm. Kids?

He was expressing the view of many people on this topic, but I had to go back and check. Michael Christian probably does qualify as a “kid” in media circles. He’s 25. But the other half of the Hot 30 team that is now in hot water, Mel Grieg, is 30, and until recently taught at the Australian Radio School in Adelaide. Not Kids in my book either

According to the ARS website: “We’ll teach you everything from classic communication techniques, producing great shows, copywriting, voiceovers, commercial production, promotions, all the way through to using new media like podcasting and internet radio to score your first gig.”

I know the woman is under enormous pressure, and I stand by this position, that she and Christian have been unfairly blamed for the tragedy of Jacintha Saldanha’s death.

I also agree with Carlton that station management let everyone down. But listening to Christian and Greig last night was like listening to two teenagers. Personally I think that for 2 days they were being coached by the station on what to say and how to say it. I found it interesting that Christiann repeated almost verbatim the same lines at least 3 times in the interview... like a parrot.

“It’s not up to us to make that decision we just record it and then it goes to the other departments to work it out. I don’t know what they then do with it - we just do what we do which is make those calls,” Greig said.

And Christian: “I’m certainly not aware of what filters it needs to pass through, all we know is it’s passed on and then we’re told either yay or nay, essentially and they don’t give us much more than that.”

Do people in highly-paid, high-profile jobs generally operate with that level of knowledge about the processes determining their output? To call it a Generation Y thing is an insult to the many members of that much maligned group who know exactly what they are doing and why.

This topic of age and who is a “kid” first came to mind this year when old quotes from Julia Gillard resurfaced during the Slater and Gordon story. In 2007 she told News Ltd she was “young and naive” about her relationship with Bruce Wilson. In 1992 when the now-infamous Workplace Reform Association was set up, Gillard was 31 and a salaried partner in a major law firm.

Has the age when you can call yourself “young” gone up? I know 50 is the new 40 but I thought that had more to do with being allowed to wear jeans that don’t look like they’re designed for a geriatric and being able to drive a convertible without being accused of having a mid-life crisis.

A popular phrase for immature 20-somethings, still living at home, eating Mum’s cooking and spending their salaries on fun, not the future, is “kidults”.

The law says you’re an adult the day you turn 18 but society is saying something else altogether. Is it?

The cliche goes that at the same age their parents and grandparents were stating families, building businesses and fighting wars this generation still can’t boil and egg or operate a washing machine.

But is 30 the new 20? NO! It is not. Even children understand right from wrong. If you are over 20 you are certainly NOT a kid.

Apparently so! How and why the Roach is so blind to the many facets that make this tragic event, is a mystery to me.

Good analogy IQ's, however it will fall on deaf ears because our resident hate-monger has already advised that regardless of new facts coming to light, he/she will remain on the same DJ blamist trajectory with it's pitchfork and torch.



Some people just cant see reason, they get 'stuck' in their views, opinion, and cant/wont shift.
Even when presented with facts that would bring about a change of opinion in any rational thinking person.
