For the first time in many years I was forced to miss the local Dawn Service. I have an infected foot which has laid me up. Normally I go and remember fallen service people.

You son, "Nicole" appears to have grown a lot since I last saw him. Remember? He looks like he will become a fine young man. Keep him away from the military is my advice.

I found this story this morning particularly interesting. Having served with an Australian Turk in the Army, I can directly associate with this particular story: Turkish-Australian cousins brothers in arms with Gallipoli Turk great-grandfather

Sad to hear, I managed to do Dawn Service in Canberra, a very good service well worth the travel.
