Now where were we?
Oh yeah...
Pre poxy i was looking at the difference between the 2 versions of the quote and why I asked AiA what he had meant.
One would relate to religions compromising their rules.
The other would relate to the rules of a religion.
Catholics for example had a very bad time with people compromising their rules so we had break aways etc. Islam has major issue with all other religions not only their own adepts in compromising the word of God.
Religion compromises rules you follow. Faith is demonstrated by the actions you take.
I don't hold that faith and rules can be separated like that.
At least not in Christianity.
The 10 Commandments are Rules.
The Golden Rule... is a rule.
Jesus' teachings are rules.
One strives to follow them... these are actions, the rules define the actions. Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal...
Faith is the test of belief. In Christianity the test is to believe without absolute proof. Believing with proof is an easy thing, that is why it is a test of Faith.
Jn.3:16 Whosoever
believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life
Jn.11:25,26
I am the resurrection and the life...whosoever believeth in Me shall never die
Acts 16:31
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved
Rom.10:9,10 If thou shalt...
believe in thine heart...thou shalt be saved
1Jn.5:1a Whosoever
believeth Jesus is the Christ is born of God
