The only one I let my daughter watch was Australian Idol (she likes to sing) but as for Big Brother and all the other crap...no, I always made sure we flicked the channel over before they started.

Well the first BB the contestants had no idea of what to expect, and the producers had an agenda and that was it but ever since the contestants are all poorly performing actors/actresses trying to follow the producer's script. And it is a script of what they have to say/react as.
Women...if they had brains they'd be men

They should turn Question Time into a reality TV show, no wait, it already is.

Getting back to these silly shows... actually Bart, most of them on TLC's RT series aren't actors at all, even if they call themselves 'talent' this and fancy themselves as TV stars.

See, TLC seem to prey on virtual nobodies to exploit them for entertainment value.

They know they are dysfunctional, that's why they exploit them.

Bit like a modern freak-show/carnival.

It's the kids I feel sorry for, because there's an obvious sense of loss once TLC have finished with them, when they are expected to revert back to real life.

Do they even know what's real any more?

Sure, kids are adaptable, but not this adaptable, it's a little like taking a bum off the street, turning them into a celebrity for a year then expecting them to return to the park-bench , carry on as normal once the series ends.

Thats show-biz, but do the kids understand this, and will they cope with the negative attention coming from our media and their peers long after the series has ended?

That Duggar woman posted photos of the dead fetus. What a class act!

That was sad. I thought the baby died when it was only a few months in utero. It looks like it went to almost full term. How could she show the world something so private?

I hope she gets her tubes tied. One of these days she's going to lose her life too while pregnant.
