She met her husband at 16 in Italy and was married at 17 and had 5 children to him. It would be interesting to know how old he is. Perhaps he could be called something more unpleasant rather than a "concerned" father?
In regard to the charges laid against her - I'm not sure what's going on.
Yesterday this was reported...
Today this....
Justice Forrest sought and received an undertaking from the father that he would withdraw any criminal complaints against the mother in Italy.
The girls' mother, who according to court documents met her husband during a study tour in Italy at age 16 and married him at age 17, had moved out of the couple's family villa in 2007 after the death of the their third daughter.

I posted it above. The fifth child was another daughter who died.

I don't waste time reading bullshit when somebody else can give me a precis, Arsee.
I want the basics. Is she an Australian? Were any of the children born in Australia? If not, who cares.
You really are an Old Fart and Gossipy type, Arsee.

Why is it relevant the father's age?
Has it been mentioned or highlighted the mother's age?

All I want to know is EVERBODY'S AGE in this storm in a teacup ..... then I can allocate my energy and concern to the various age-groups.
I think Mantra might be considering a 70 year old (male or female) a little old to be bringing up kids ...but Grandparents do it all the time. More pity them. Who would want to be raising toddlers or teenagers in your dotage?

Then mother must be fairly old too so we all better get on our soap boxes bleating that women shouldn't be allowed to raise children if they're 40 or more.

Not necessarily. The Old Bloke of 70 might have lots of money and the ex-wife could be 35.
Did it not get through to you that I don't think the Mother is right? The eldest daughter is probably taking on the "parent" role .....
