That may be, but I meant every word. African American over here could mean that their ancestors have lived in America for over 200 years and they are every bit American as I am. My earliest ancestors got here in the early 1700s, except for the distant native American ancestors. Part of my "calling a spade a spade" is PC and part of it is that I'm from a mixed culture. My granddaughter is white, black, and hispanic. I'd gladly give my life or take someone else's life to protect her. I do shy away from making racist comments or telling racist jokes because it could now mean me losing access to my granddaughter. I've never been overtly racist, but I now have greater incentive to watch my tongue.
