When I heard a TV report in the background, I asked "Did they say 300 and something mm in 24 hours?"

That's some heavy duty rain you got there, hope you're storm water infrastructure can handle it.

I've bought an old surf ski since our inundation .. just in case.

Lots of trees down probably due to sodden soil and 100km/h winds and some minor flooding but nothing major that I'm aware of. We are accustomed to and equipped for intense but brief rainfall, this has just been a bit more intense than normal. :)

Seems I was wrong, while Ned and 1 or 2 others were correct with regards to public opinion on how Qld premier Anna Bligh handled our recent flood situation.
