His great friend and cornerman Ray Wheatley, for many years Australia’s leading boxing official said, “This is a terribly sad time. Troy was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and one of the very best fighters ever to represent Australia.
I remember seeing a TV program on the 3 boys and their dad....they talked about their dad like he was a hero to them and they cried....it wasnt until years later we were told their dad was really cruel to them.....yet Troy never said a bad word.. only 53
