So, you mean to say that poor dead nurse who attempted to commit suicide at least twice before (took pills then jumped off a building) managed to keep her poor state of mental health a secret from a prestigious hospital that vets it's staff for suitability in treating the royal family had no idea she was unbalanced? Despite the obvious struggles she was enduring in her workplace in the lead-up to the hoax?

She was visiting family in India when she attempted to commit suicide twice less than 12 months ago, and they, (this allegedly close family) had no idea either?

Fact is... whilst a number of you fixated on the "DJ's ARE TO BLAME" rational, some of us exercised a little independent thought process, this and explored the possibilities, this and weren't prepared to run with the British tabloids diversion tactile.

I honestly cannot see any humour in a prank calling a hospital asking about the health of anyone. Royal or not.

Where's the humour in that? There isn't any. It's lame. If that's what they do for laughs it's no wonder I don't listen to them

Funny or not, you cant blame the DJ's for the mental deterioration and ultimate death of an individual who was suicidal well before the hoax-call, no more than you could blame the inconsiderate bastard who stole her parking space that same day , or the gas company who issued her with a disconnection of service notice, or the bloke next door who made her the but of his April fools joke.

Unless they can prove 'intent' ie, can prove the DJ's had prior knowledge of nurse Jacinthas poor state of mental health, this and somehow knew she was suicidal, then it's game over.
The ACMA can take their bat and ball and go home also.

Sorry, but a suicidal nurse topping herself on the other side of the world after transferring a hoax-call to a work colleague is poor grounds for the imposition of yet another licence condition.

The London Daily Mail reported yesterday that Saldanha survived after being rushed to hospital but tried to take her own life nine days later by jumping from a building.

Gee I wonder where those spurious slashed wrists claims came from.

When she was found hung, it was noted she had injuries to her wrists also.



The thing is Roach, do you think the family should have been up front about her having attempted to take her life twice prior to the hoax, this or wilfully set about placing blame on the hospital and DJ's?

They cashed in on her death, thats a fact.

I think it's a disgrace, the family should be forced to pay it all back to a charity such as Beyond Blue or something.
They were being deceitful, knew which side their bread was buttered on.

I wonder how the people who targeted the DJ's, going as far as to threaten them with death even feel now?

Pretty stupid I would imagine.



Nurse Jacintha took pills to end her life about a year ago, then 8 days after this she threw herself off a building and received head injuries, then spent about a month in a psychiatric facility.

Yet her brother now claims only he knew about it when confronted by the media as to why the entire family withheld this information from the public?

What a load of crap!!!

Now she's tried a different method and succeeded, and as a result her family have cashed in on it like vultures.

I maintain that todayFM should have waited for the results of the inquest before donating 500k to the memorial fund the hospital set up for her family to wipe their crocodile tears with.
The hospital also donated an undisclosed sum of money to this memorial fund they set up for her family, and with so much public sympathy and outrage (towards the DJ's) they would have received a large sum of money from the Australian public also.
The family even set up a facebook account which linked to the memorial fund for the public to make their donations online.

And all this before she was even buried, probably before she was even cold.

Sorry Australia, but we have been had, this and made fools out of of yet again.

Just because the mother country says it's true doesn't mean it's so.

Really, people need to start thinking for themselves, this opposed to running with what the media tells them to.



Sorry to say it....but I told you so... it smacked of vulturistic opportunism from the start, hence my comment re- the sacred cash cow.
