Row row row your boat.
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily.
Stock market is but a dream.

Goods from China, by far the biggest target,
are now subject to at least a 104% tariff.

Trump tacked on even higher tariffs than initially announced after Beijing
didn’t back off its promise to impose 34% retaliatory tariffs Tuesday.

It reminds me of a song:

All I see turns to brown
as the sun burns the ground
and my eyes fill with sand
as I scan this wasted wasted land

This trade war is getting more stupid by the day. 104% on China who won't back down until we're all in the poor house. Trump's advisor, Pete Navarro, is a fraud and a complete kook. He wrote books citing some 'genius' economic giant called Ron Vara in many of his books. It turns out Ron Vara doesn't exist. It's an anagram of Navarro and he was citing himself.

Musk (who believes in free trade) is calling him Pete Retardo!

Now there's going to be tariffs on pharmaceuticals because big pharma doesn't like our PBS scheme. Well too bad for them. Trump seems to think it will bring it all back to the US. I'm guessing countries will buy elsewhere.

It could mean that there will be a glut of Chinese goods and
we'll get them cheaper here.

I certainly don't want pharmaceuticals from China. Don't you remember during Covid how they threatened to withhold meds from the US and the rest of us?

South Korea, Japan etc. Have you ever had a Chinese mobile phone? Other than iPhones which are manufactured and assembled there. Is that what you mean as a Chinese phone?

The Samsung I have is better (for me) than any of the iPhones I have had.

I like my Samsung mobile phone.

I believe that some parts and some assembling is done in China - not sure.
