The real political sabotage is in housing. I was watching the news tonight and in one segment they're saying that younger Australians have little to no chance of ever owning their own home. That's if any 'homes' are even left as they're all being leveled for high rise.

A couple of segments later they had on some Chinese real estate agents (terrible 'English') saying how they have many billions of dollars from Chinese and Singaporean buyers ready to splash in the housing market in Sydney and Melbourne. BTW the majority of RE agents in Sydney are Chinese because that's where the market is.

What's that going to do? Make the market ridiculously higher than it already is.

We're going to need those submarines.

Both sides of government are guilty. Foreign ownership needs to be quelled.

Foreign owners pay higher Stamp duty and land taxes - that's all.
That's all? So you are ok with it? Sell us out for a few more dollars? I'm stunned.
No - I'm not right with it - foreigners should be banned from buying property
and taking away any chance for many Aussies of owning their own home.

Europe is already sabotaging its own economy far more than U.S. tariffs could, former ECB president says
Former European Central Bank President Mario Draghi urged the EU to get its own house in order by addressing trade barriers between member states, while downplaying the relative harm from potential U.S. tariffs.

The obstacles that European Union members impose against each other do much more economic harm than the U.S. could with tariffs, former ECB President Mario Draghi said.

Draghi cited IMF estimates that show Europe’s internal barriers are equivalent to a 45% tariff on manufactured goods and a 110% levy on services.

Yes, we are definitely going to be needing those submarines and more security concerning our ocean's borders.
We are currently sitting ducks, being bought and sold, traded, by foreign investors, our sovereignty should not be for sale.

A strong decisive government needs to take charge and secure Australia's vulnerabilities for generations of Australians to come, but who? Albanese's agenda is to purposely render us even more compliant and obedient to our Supreme Leader China 🇨🇳 with a view to creating the false illusion that he has managed our nations budget well.

I think Albanese thought he could distract all Australians, Indigenous and otherwise with a Voice referendum while he set about seeding the way for China to have theirs.

Australianised Chinese are beautiful and deeply respectful + well mannered people, we have Chinese families that have descended from our Gold fields here in Ballarat, their decendents having come to Australia fleeing a harsh dictator for a better way of life, so the last thing they want for their own future generations is for Australia to succumb to China.

We all want a strong, resilient economy and society, which comes with independence, not being dependent upon another.

We are heading in the wrong direction, this discussion shouldn't be about who's economy or trade practices we should base our own upon, because every countries different.

We should be focusing on building our own, rather than deciding who's team we'll be on. EU vrs US vrs Ch

Let's do what's best for Australia, and take the good with the bad as we go along.

At least at the end of it , it'll still be ours, even if we need to weather difficulties along the way.

24/7 .... Mines are still operating underneath Ballarat which STILL yields so much gold.

Unfortunately, our mines belong to foreign companies, when we should be making changes to our foreign ownership legislation and keeping it Australian owned and operated.
