The grave sites of veterans were desecrated in Pennsylvania on the Memorial Day weekend. The war memorial in Pittsburgh and the Lincoln Memorial were also vandalised.

I've been pulled over by cops of all races, Male and female. I've even been ticketed by a cop on a horse. Many check my background and let me go because I did nothing wrong. Was I being profiled?

When you got pulled up, same as me, you probably said " Good afternoon Officer .........."
And there were no problems.
I always thank them for their work. They really appreciate it.

I understand that the cop is going to be on edge. I do everything I can to make him more comfortable. I pull as far away from traffic as possible, roll my windows down, turn off my ignition, get my licenses and insurance papers out, and keep my hands visible on the steering wheel until he approaches me. When he asks for my license, I also hand him my License To Carry and tell him the location of my gun. My LTC also tells the cop that I'm a military veteran. I then follow his commands and we take care of business.

2/3 of the time, the cop will let me off with a warning. We will then discuss our military service or our pistols. If the cop sees that you are trying to calm the situation and are generally law abiding , they are more likely to cut you some slack. We both just want to go home at the end of the day.

This suggests that when you are pulled over...you are scared.....

Why do you think I am scared? I understand that the cop can be nervous in these situations and I do everything I can to make him comfortable as a precaution to avoid conflict. Writing citations on the side of the highway can be dangerous for the cop and with me having a gun(legally), I want to be as upfront and honest as possible without incriminating myself in any way. You don't argue your way out of tickets on the side of the road. That can only lead to bad things. You argue in court if you think you have an argument.

Cops are very sneaky when it comes to getting you to incriminate yourself. My best mate used to be a cop in a heavily hispanic suburb of Dallas. He's a white guy, but his step dad is hispanic and he taught him to speak very fluent Spanish. When they would arrest people, a hispanic officer would read them their rights in Spanish because that's typically what people there spoke. They would then leave the area and my mate would watch them. They would speak to each other in Spanish, thinking that my mate couldn't understand them. My mate would stand there and act dumb and take notes on what they were saying to each other and burn them in court with their own words. They had no idea that my mate was spying on them right under their noses.

Comparing Police in Australia and the USA is like comparing chalk and cheese...
Have you ever watched the Australian TV programmes depicting Police in various states pulling
over drivers, many drivers become agitated...some obviously playacting for the camera...
BUT I cant recall any traffic stop in Australia where the driver finished up dead....

Might have something to do with the "training" Police receive...

You just made my case. Justine unwittingly sneaked up on the police and startled them. The cop was obviously a social hire and not suited for the job and he grossly overreacted. If a cop is approaching me on the side of the highway and I suddenly reach for my back pocket, should he be startled enough to draw his weapon? I'm recognizing the situation and proactively putting the cop at ease for both of our benefits by having my papers ready and not making threatening moves. It's common sense and I have taught this to my sons. I've demonstrated this behavior in front of them multiple times. They aren't immune to being killed by cops either.

I'm not being hypocritical. You brought up Noor and he is a direct product of Democrat retardation with favouring minorities purely because they are minorities. We are doing that here as well.

I have 2 sons who grew up in a different time to what I did. Once cops had to be 6' tall and have integrity and intellect. Now not so much. I don't know about out of state or country cops but many Sydney cops are barely 5' tall and carry highly aggressive and very unreasonable attitudes.

One of my kids crashed his motor bike a few years ago. It was late at night and no-one else was on the road. He banged himself up pretty badly and I went and picked him up and left the bike on the side of the road to be collected later. He was banged up and in shock and then 2 cops banged on the door. One was ok but the short ass in charge was an absolute pig. No other word for him!

Kept bullying my son and threatening to charge him. For what? For falling off his bike with no-one else around?

Both have seen the very bad side of Sydney cops and both would act with deference when pulled over, which I suppose you could translate into fear, because you just never know what these cops are going to do. When my youngest was in high school they used to go to the local shops after school to meet. They didn't cause trouble but were constantly targeted by the local police just for something to do. The cops would search them and make them take off their shoes and socks in case they had some weed. The cops were aggressive and nasty and didn't find any weed but that didn't stop them from bullying and targeting the kids over and over.

So I suspect many young Australians are scared of our cops too.
