As to BO... I have no qualms with her... Rather, she has provided stable and neutral moderation of this forum... a thankless task for which she is to be commended.
Thank you Nom. :rose
More than that BO, I respect that you don't belittle BR, or anyone else for that matter! I doubt that forum members realise just how hard that is to do! So, to Reboot now, if you want to talk about moral high ground, as you did, then appreciate also that BO has defined it and sits there, all on her lonesome. I try and keep her company, for the benefit of the forum, but I am not as successful as she.

BO obviously lacks cruel intent towards BR that you, and others like you, do!

So, Reboot, why does denigrating BR give you pleasure?

Incorrect. I picked on Brian, very briefly, because he took one of my topics off topic, before said topic had a chance to be explored. I was angry because he is a self professed academic and therefore knows better than that. And so I had a hissy fit, the results of which can be seen in BO creating The Playground in my name.

You, on the other hand deride BR because it gives you pleasure.

I've noticed that when people have a problem with Black Orchid, they jump on the "I Pity Brian Ross" bandwagon, and only when it suits them. It's laughable.

On the first point -- lies. I've seen you "denigrate" Greta more than the one "hissy-fit" above, sneery one liners and all.

On the second point -- that's convenient of you. You certainly haven't displayed this amount of respect for her prior to this. Regardless, that's between you and her. No skin off my back. :Hi

I do agree that she's an excellent moderator, though. :thumb

The "reasoning" behind why we give Brian shit is irrelevant as well. Sorry love, but you don't get a free pass because yours is a hissy-fit and mine is "pleasure", which we will address in a moment.

You're attempting to keep Black Orchid's "company" up there on the moral pedestal, and failing horribly. :rofl I'm sorry but there's an obvious reason as to why Brian cops the flack that he gets -- he's a left-winger in a, let's face it, majority right-winger's forum. On that alone he is bound to run into some trouble in debate, but I can guarantee there would be less "denigration" if he actually treated people with respect. He constantly condemns people for "sins" that he himself commits.

The "pleasure" I gain is this -- it's better to laugh at the hypocrisy and stupidity, rather than take it seriously and be offended by another's views. Rather than be offended and cry about various perceived "phobias" I'd rather express my own views to counter that. If somebody wants to respond to me with tsks tsks and eyerolls, they will in turn be treated like a fuckwit. He has been told on numerous occasions, after constantly bitching to admin that he was being "punished" unfairly, that if he started treating other folks with respect then perhaps they would see a change in behaviour towards him. I also pointed this out, to which he responded with, "tsk tsk. Back to the kiddie's playground.  "

On a politics forum, things are bound to get nasty once in a while and I fully accept this. The moral high ground is a myth, it's something we are taught by people that are supposed to be "wiser" than us, but rarely has basis in reality -- that is, the reality of political forums. :giggle

What do our so-called leaders (politicians) do in parliament? Much the same as we do here, except they have to pretend they take a moral high ground so people don't think less of them. You can see it in their eyes, they wanna call each other fuckwits and tossers, but they have to dress it up nicely... though can still get away with condescending... gee, doesn't that sound familiar.

So, yes, back to your question.

What pleasure is gained by me denigrating Greta?

Why, the same pleasure Greta gains in denigrating posters on here he doesn't agree with.

You're smarter than this, NDP. You know this already.
