A female driver is furious after receiving a hefty fine because her passenger was using FaceTime while she was driving.

Sheree, from Sydney, posted a photo of her $337 fine to social media, saying she had no idea she was breaking the law.

'Tell your passengers to stay off their phones while you are driving, I got fined because my passenger was on FaceTime,' she wrote.

'Honestly didn’t know that was a thing.'

The offence on the fine was listed as 'Drive vehicle with TV/VDU image likely to distract'.

Her post has been shared more than 10,000 times, and other drivers echoed her anger, arguing the little-known offence should be publicised more.

'What a joke. They haven’t advertised this much. As if we need something else to control while we’re driving,' one woman wrote.

'Ok this is ridiculous. I get drivers being off their phones etc but this is pathetic,' wrote another.

'Tell me you’re going to fight this?!?! That’s ridiculous,' another woman wrote.

But it turns out that the bizarre offence is actually a law in New South Wales.

I just think that the Daily Mail loves to publish photos of women with big tits...etc...
Not that I would complain...
But seriously, charging a driver for something a passenger does is a bit over the top, but to be expected
of our grubberment...just to raise more revenue for state governments which are all sorry arsed broke....

in stamp duty being collected on house sales.

Yep, the Victorian government has even increased the luxury car tax...which was originally
introduced by Howard to protect the Australian auto industry...which is now non existent....
Therefore shouldn't the LCT be abolished.....don't be silly....
Actually, for those who don't remember, the sales tax on cars was abolished when Howard introduced the GST, so to
balance the books, they introduced the LCT at 33% on the vehicles over about $63 grand....
eg Car worth $100 grand...LCT is automatic $12 grand..on top of the GST at 10%.....and 5% import duty....
And now the victorian government bumps up the LCT a bit more....
Someone tell me how a state government can increase a federal government tax, as I understand, all LCT goes to the
federal government...
Ill tell you how...they just impose a tax on all cars valued at more than $100k but they don't call it a LCT...
Oh by the way, you also pay stamp duty on car ownership transfer...now how many taxes is that...I lost count...

The Govts. are panicking - they're desperate for money.
The system is collapsing with ever increasing debt to hold it up.
They allowed the population to expand to unsustainable levels from immigration
and then had no answers for the congested roads, hospitals and schools except
to increase taxes and borrow on the never never.

Instead of encouraging business to be decentralised -
move into the suburbs where people lived -
they instead tried to move millions of people in and out of the city centers every day.
the roads became clogged - ohh what do we do now? -
the answer, get private industry to build more roads so we pay tolls to use roads - then
build more railway infrastructure with borrowed money.
The trouble is that it doesn't work -
the freeways are blocked for at least 5 hours a day every day in Victoria.
You pay money to sit in a freeway car-park.
No matter how much they rebuild freeways they will always be blocked.
My answer was to get out of Melbourne and live in Geelong.

There is new equipment being trialed right now for mobile phone detection in cars - the trial lasted a few weeks and they picked 25,000 people on mobile phones in just 2 locations.... but they are not booking them at this stage, just testing..

Its an epidemic..

A couple of weeks back i notices this car coming close to the centre of the road as i was approaching... i went to flash my lights but the car moved back to the centre of their lane... but as i went passed the girl in the passenger seat was showing the driver something on her phone and he was looking away from the road as they went passed me...

This really grinds my gears...

The least they could do is look at whatever they were looking at while there is no cars coming.. but nope... people are smacking idiots...

And they Are putting my life and your life in danger....

I use my phone on a windshield magnetic mount for navigation next to the A pillar. I wonder if they would hassle me for that. I drive to a different job site every day and need to use navigation. I guess I could go back to the old days of looking up the site on a map and memorizing the route, but my nav is much easier.

It sounds like the cop was just trying to fill out his quota or he wanted to flirt. She must have shot him down.

Cops in Australia don't try to flirt with hot babes -
they are more professional than in Texas.

If you say so. Cops are very professional in Texas. Mrs. Texan almost never gets out of a ticket when pulled over, but she hasn't been pulled over since she got her License To Carry. Cops like to see that because they know you are law abiding and background checked. It helps when you are pulled over.

They don't know who they pulled over until they have already pulled them over. The cop runs the license plate and gets the information for the owner. Once they know who they are likely dealing with, they approach the vehicle. We are expected to present our LTC when we give him our ID and the cop has the right to disarm me for the duration of the stop. Usually, they ask me where my gun is, I tell them, and they just tell me to leave it there and don't make sudden moves. He takes my license, and proof of insurance back to his car, where he either writes a citation or gives me a warning. He returns to the car and gives me my credentials along with whatever paperwork he has for me to sign and we go on our separate ways.

A cop would much rather see a person with an LTC. They are background checked, proficiency tested, have no felonies, substance abuse issues, domestic violence history, dishonorable military discharge, or mental illness history. Anyone who can legally OWN a gun can carry it concealed in their car. The cop would rather deal with a known quantity than a random stranger. We often talk on the side of the highway about what kind of guns we carry. It's happened more than once to me. My LTC says that I am a military veteran and that also gives me "brownie points".

In Bulgaria you're not obliged to tell them you have a gun. Some of them saw me that I do, on traffic stops asked me: "Hey, do you have a license for that?", and I was like "Yeah, issued from precinct XYZ", and they're "Oh, cool".

There's never the tension. There will be, if I was drunk or drugged, though. Cops here generally hate to create attention and bring it on themselves. They're highly introverted. Even if they offer you a bribe, they make it super secretly. Like, they offer you to get some snack for them from a specific local shop. Then the snack costs let's say exactly 20 лв., which is €10. If you were speeding with over 40-50 km/h, a coffee and a banitchka can cost you €30-50.

They're really clever. But at the same time want to just do their thing and not get bothered. They hate when they have to chase someone and usually beat him to a pulp just because he ruined their vacation. From cameras you can't get away. And if you're drunk. Well, I suppose this type of behaviour is to be expected, as women are being empowered left right and centre.
Of course Ill be called sexist if I point the finger at women.
These days, young women particularly, seem to think they are ten foot tall and bulletproof, can do as they please,
break the law, become pissheads, continually use their phone whilst driving, and think theyre doing nothing wrong.
This is all because they are being empowered...or they think they are...
Yesteryear it was always young male hoons on the roads..nowadays its moronic young pisshead women
on the phone thinking they are above the law...
Ive lost count of the number of times Ive seen young stupid women driving whilst on the phone....
and if I say anything Im told where to go...
The general behaviour of young women these days leaves a lot to be desired....
Their antisocial behaviour has reached epidemic proportions.....
