I think we need to avoid preservatives as well. Not only for Dementia but for Cancer as well and if meat does not say "hormone free" avoid that too.
Also toxic teflon pots and pans.

https://au.news.yahoo.com/simple-eye-te ... 51308.htmlA simple eye test is being hailed as a “game-changer” in the detection and diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease.
Perth researchers say it’s non-invasive, fast and cheap – and has the potential to save lives.
It takes just a couple of seconds for the test, in which a camera takes a photo of the retina at the back of the eye to detect the build-up of amyloids – proteins which can indicate Alzheimer’s disease.
“It’ll benefit many many people throughout the country and throughout the world hopefully in time,” Edith Cowan University researcher Professor Ralph Martins said.
The disease can be diagnosed before symptoms begin – up to 20 years in advance.
“That’s what makes it so exciting, because while they have amyloid in their brain, at that stage the brain hasn’t been damaged, and that’s the best time to intervene,” Professor Martins said.
In Australia, Alzheimer’s is the leading cause of death in women. For men, it’s number two.

Stop worrying about what you MIGHT die from and LIVE life to its fullest! There is no magic formula for a long, healthy, life. Some die young, some die old. The only thing is you Live and then you Die!
Oh and there is no Heaven where you meet up with all your friends and rellies. Dead is Dead.

Do you want to live until you need somebody to feed you, bathe you and change your nappy? I sure don't.BigP wrote: ↑Sat Jun 23, 2018 5:01 pmNeferti~ wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 4:10 pmStop worrying about what you MIGHT die from and LIVE life to its fullest! Well I am certainly not worried about dying. We all have to go sometime. My Mother did, however, have Alzheimers and I would never want to inflict that on my kids.
It's a shocking ailment and if they can find early warning signals to help to counteract it I think that is a most excellent thing.

Re: Dementia and Alzheimers
There is absolutely NO dementia in my family. I have Aunts in their mid-90s and one who just had a"hip replacement" ...
Everyone has a temporary problem with a name or place, every so often. I recall wondering why my Mother (as a kld) had to go through ALL her daughters names when we were little kids to, finally, get the right one.
Then ..... I had ONE daughter and did similar, the dog, neighbour, cousin or whomever ... when I finally got to my daughter's name. It is NOT dementia.
My daughter says the same and she has 3 daughters ... even the dog and cat get into the "act" when yelling at "who did what". It's just one of those things that Mothers do!
