Crikey Mantra, you and I both know that would take PA back to the hell hole it once was BECAUSE of those who are permanently banned from here. Eg Aussie et al.

I've always wanted PA to be inclusive of different factions, but it's a plan that has consistently failed. People usually mellow a little, as you assume they would, with age and wisdom, but it hasn't happened. I accept this. I miss some of the arguments at times though and I think it's a bit unfair that some people are banned here permanently. The way PA is currently - they will never get a look in. I hated it when it was the the other way around though. It makes everyone unhappy when there's a power struggle. There are always victims regardless of who's running the show.

I think PA is much better MINUS the 3 stooges. We all voted (privately) to have them banned permanently and any Admin who thinks they can just unban any of the 3, had better ask the Members, or else.

PS. I know that Ozzzz, Aggie and Monkey man read here, so for their benefit .... the "newbies" can NOT nominate themselves for the Admin position .... nor can they vote .... so trying to curry favour via the back door, won't do you lot any good, at all. So there!

If he moderated in the same way Animal Mother did, no problem.
IMO AM was the best mod we've ever had.

Well you don't have to worry about me Yogi - because I'd never put my hand up. However, if I was inclined to put my hand up - I would unban everyone who is permanently banned from here.

The only current permanent ban I'm aware of is Arsie, and considering his consistently dodgey behaviour, vindictiveness and poor motives, I think unbanning him would be just asking for trouble.
Arsie makes out he's one of the original PAs - not so - and claimed to have been at a PA member get together (in Sydney) of such originals.
Only problem is Arsie does not feature in any of the photos of said get together published at a former PA incarnation.
When challenged on this, Arsie claimed there was a similar get together in Brisbane and he was there.
I say "Bullshit!".

For clarity's sake, despite not being asked to spell it out, the reason/s I say "No" to Rorschach, Mantra, Lisa Jones is because
Rorschach is too partisan to the Libs (and Hanson), Mantra is too partisan to the Greens and Lisa Jones is too petty.
Another reason for rejecting Rorschach and Lisa Jones is they play internal politics with the membership.
And Mantra while I'm sure means well, I think too naively accepts politically correct dogmas and campaign fallacies.

Just because I disagree with someone's political or social views/opinions doesn't mean I cannot recognise their aptitude for performing a function like Mod. I often clashed with AM but I still regard him as our best ever Mod. I often disagree with boxy but think he was a good Mod. Forgot to mention AiA was a decent Mod too, sorry about that AiA.

EDIT ADDITION - Just noticed Neferti's mention of "3 stooges".
Assuming Arsie is one I don't know nor care who the other 2 are.
If they annoyed the majority of the membership to get themselves exiled, they most likely deserve it.

I'm not sure if Bic Vic and Redneck understand the Constitution FD installed here when he first bought PA. Members have to be here for usually a year or so and then they're entitled to vote at the yearly election. I'm not sure whether long term, but banned members can vote under special circumstances, but new members have to wait unfortunately.

It doesn't matter anyway because I wouldn't choose to be EL here, but in regard to the Greens - I've actually backed off them a bit, especially since Bob Brown stepped down.
