Just checking the BOM's site on the flooding. Bundaburg can expect a peak tomorrow of about 7.5m based on measures slightly upstream taken at 3pm today. However, like you Outlaw, I expect it to peak higher given that the weather is promising more rain over the next week for Bundaburg and surrounds. Good luck with all that.

Easy mistake, as most burgs/bergs are spelt with a U rather than an E, like Helensburg, down round where I grew up. No matter anyway.
I realise you'd know all these places Aussie, but you'd hardly recognise them ATM, so I'm going to try uploading again .. toes crossed.

This flood is massive. This morning I tried to wade along Quay St east to cross the old railway bridge to the rowers club [got through yesterday] so I could get batteries at IGA in town. When I got to waist deep I could look down peoples underwater diveways through their backyards and see the river raging past. Someone on the front verandah said "Watch out mate, there's bull sharks in there". When I got to chest deep just past a seafood cold stores I knew my phone in my top pocket would get soaked, bull sharks can swim in knee deep water, I was only half way through, and with Kennedy creek now raging over the old railway bridge [higher than Kennedy bridge] I figured I could be washed straight into the river and wind up half way to NZ, so turned back.

About 13:00/1:00pm (Qld) we evacuated with car towing a tinny up Princess St toward Bagara, then got out via the new ring road to west Bundy. We're now camping in a friend's backyard at Kentucky Bluegrass.

This is Bourbong st east @ 7:00 this morning, the water had risen about 2 feet more by mid-day.
