I'm more of a thongs, stubbies and blue singlet man myself. Of course, my little patch of the QLD coast lacks all the scenic charm of the Gold and sunshine coasts and the wet tropics. Mud, mangroves, sandflies and huge, dirty industrial plants are the order of the day here. Not much to call an idyllic beach so we dress for the occasion - shift work, sleep, drink (repeat).

So how's the weather down there on the sunny coast Hebe? It's bone dry here - virtually not a drop of rain for 5 months going on 6.

Home is where the heart is.

Or where you are at if you can tell your heart to shut the fuck up and just pump blood.

Actually no, we do have mile after mile of beautiful golden ocean beaches, stretching away for miles to both the north and south, completely uninhabited. No roads into the places. Seems the early settlers said to themselves "look at those fantastic beaches - let's build a settlement in a muddy, sandfly-infested mangrove swamp around the corner."

Beach culture has come a long way.
