My mistake. I'm so used to you disagreeing with me that I don't notice when you do agree.Rorschach wrote:So domestic violence resulting in the death of a female is an aberration? LOL, wassup English not your first language? Maybe we can blame GM foods or the hormones in our meat?

Re: Domestic Violence
The government should be putting in additional resources and funding instead of reducing them to almost nothing.skippy wrote:It has been a violent week in Qld domestic violence wise. Some asshole attacked his ex wife with a machete yesterday too. I think we just live in a more violent society full stop nowadays. I'm not downplaying the shooting but that ex bikie who ran his ex off the road and then proceeded to smash her head in with a lump of steel or brick or whatever it was is just a first class asshole. He's the sort of bloke I object to feeding while he does his ten years gaol.
Homeless women fleeing domestic violence or suffering severe mental illness will be left without specialist support in a radical overhaul of homelessness services in NSW, advocates say.
They fear mass closures of support organisations as funding for just one women-specific homelessness service that will care for more than 500 women a year is set at $1.1 million.
This works out to about $6 per woman per day, and is well short of previous government estimates of the cost of providing accommodation.
The overhaul aims to shift homeless people out of the city and back to their communities, but critics say this will streamline inner-city services and cut specialist beds for women with mental illness or special needs.

Stepping Out Housing Program director Rochelle Porteous said she knew of two organisations already that were closing because of the changes.
"The removal of $6 million in funding for Sydney inevitably means services will close - and specialist women's homelessness services seem to be squarely in the firing line," she said.

There is a site that is keeping track of female deaths due to violence. The one at McDonalds was the 62nd murder so far this year.

More likely that we just hear about it these days. Like pedophilia, rape, suicide, they were often viewed as things to be covered up, more than dealt with (often by the victims themselves). Still are to a degree.skippy wrote:I think we just live in a more violent society full stop nowadays.

Hopefully it will start to be uncovered now in all it's brutality. It's not just females who need to speak out about it - it's also other males who can see what's happening to a neighbour, colleague, relative or friend, but remain silent possibly because they're scared of any repercussions. It's not acceptable in any way and that should include forums. Why do males - or females sit back and watch while another female is violently taunted?
Re: Domestic Violence
Have always wondered the same thing mantra ? Why do others watch the persecution and distress of women rather then say or do something about it. Is it accepted that it's fine to subject women to abuse ? It is societal conditioning in almost every country.mantra wrote:Hopefully it will start to be uncovered now in all it's brutality. We express disgust when we hear and see the horrific abuse women in Muslim counteries are subjected to- but we have in this parallels country that are not so far removed in reality.

What I find hard to believe is that a woman is unable to click a button if she thinks she's being abused on a forum.
Why does she continually put herself in the line of fire and then claim she was attacked?
I'd say because she's a passive-aggressive bitch who thinks everyone need to mound themselves around her.
Not going to happen. Go get fucked and whinge somewhere else.

Re: Domestic Violence
Men get abused too and because they rarely say anything, due to embarrassment and/or shame, it doesn't make it any less heinous. There are a lot of vicious, erratic and violent women around. You just have to read any forum to know they are around.mantra wrote:Hopefully it will start to be uncovered now in all it's brutality. Re: Domestic Violence
Are you denying that men get abused by women, aggie? Perhaps it is not as wide spread as women being abused by men, but it does happen and is equally as heinous.Agnes wrote:If that's the best you can offer BO, best not say anything at all !
Perhaps if you could discuss what is written instead of trying to attack and disparage you may be taken more seriously. Then again ...
