Speaking of censorship, a relative of mine recently advised our internet censorship laws are about to change in 3 or so days, (has something to do with America, and our taking on board their censorship protocol), and thinks as a result of this new legislation , many people are going to be peeved, thus it's possible (likely) if these regulations do come into effect , Australians may experience net outages like we have never seen before, ie, may not be able to get online in a few days time due to specific groups opposing the new 'secret' legislation.
Has anyone heard anything about this?
Or is it just one of those rumours doing the rounds?
Apparently, these changes were supposed to come into effect discretely, the public not notified, and only some ISP's who are sworn to secrecy via MOU have been advised of the new protocol.
